DA BOYS LIVING WITH THE LEGACY OF UNCLE ABEL LIMAS

Michael and Fabian Limas with partner Chris Galicia stand before the 1848 BBQ and Beer Garden which received $30,000 from the Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation, which Michael Limas chairs.

Brownsville Herald, March 29, 2021

During the infamous August 26 meeting of the Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation, applicant Tony Martinez (remember him, as mayor of the city during the Casa del Nylon debacle?) was the recipient of $30,000 through the BIG 1.0 version of the giveaway. Although Martinez remains the nominal owner of the 1848 BBQ and Beer Garden, the BCIC under Limas as chairman, awarded him the $30,000 which directly benefits him and his brother Fabian.

Both Michael and his brother Fabian have long complained that they have been striving to get out from under the shadow of their uncle, former 404th District Court Judge Abel Limas, who was sentenced to 72 months in federal prison following his conviction in federal court for racketeering and bribery.

This, guys, is not the way to do it.

big difference in pleading guilty with no evidence but still convincing to a jury vs. cold hard evidence as this case seems to be developing with...they seem to have created their own bed, not reused one.

STOP FUNDING THE CITY OF BROWNSVILLE TEXAS.
If you own a historical place such as a building, structure or site, you can obtain a grant from the Historic Preservation Fund to restore the property. The National Park Service administers the fund, releasing money to the states, which in turn issue grants to applicants.

Interesting the 1848 BBQ. The year 1848 is the year of the TREATY OF GUADALUPE OF HIDALGO. The Treaty recognized the boundaries and also acknowledged that the heirs to these private Lands. Brownsville was a large land grant granted to Salvador de la Garza, Juan Cortina's great grandfather.

Wait…did they use the grant funds to purchase the place from the former mayor? Is that what you are suggesting?

Puro pinche mugrero. Why don't they work for a living like the rest of us. Best thing to do is don't go to those businesses nor to the midgets pizza place. Bastards are using our tax money for their person gain.

As things stand now, I am going to be a writer. I'm not sure that I'm going to be a good one or even a self-supporting one, but until the dark thumb of fate presses me to the dust and says 'you are nothing', I will be a writer.

Juan,

Please publish where it is prohibited for Mr. Limas to apply and be granted these kind of funds. You leave it to interpretation or imagination. If you would show us where it says they can be awarded this money, then boom, you have a case, otherwise, its chizmeh.

De tal palo tal estilla! What does it take to get people indicted down here?
I guess there is so much corruption that "someone" is afraid to have his name come out in the middle of the indictment. He certainly knows when and how to seal many indictments at his own will. Boycott 1845. BBQ is better at Ernie's on Paredes and much cheaper prize.

It's tough when your community geography is wet cagada. The slog is impossible.

In the end, you are just a drying mojon in that setting, Montoya.

These crooks are not the problem. It is all the idiots in Browntown that accepts this behavior as perfectly acceptable. You live in Brownsville not matamoros. It’s hard to tell the difference sometimes.

Duardo, the former publisher of at least eleven failed blogs, tried to stir up a little ill will between legitimate Brownsville bloggers with this false claim:

"Loopy blogger Jim "Manteca" Barton crowing that he's had more comments lately than Juan Montoya.

What a salchicha, ese mantecon. Lo siguen las moscas!!!"

Duardo, get a life and quit blog squatting in Brownsville. Get out of that dingy apartment in McAllen and take a walk in the park, feed the pigeons or look for four leaf clovers in the grass. Do something pendejo!

Let’s find out. The city should publish the names of the businesses, the principals, and the amounts received. This will give us an idea of the percentage of the money that went to the city ratones. I dare you Trey, Juan Mendez, III, Juan Trey Mendez or whatever name you are using today.

And Limas is head of the Brownsville United Way so take that into consideration before you make a donation.

The FBI should investigate Brownsville Police Chief Felix Sauceda from his relationship with the Brownsville Police Union President that had a close connection with a subject that was arrested by the Fed's for Terrorist activity.
But yet the Brownsville Police Chief Felix Sauceda not only knew of the involvement he even got involved With a business venture with the Union President. Then gave him a promotion and assigned him to the gym Monday-Friday 8am-4pm...what a waste of tax payer money!!!
Then gives a female who was caught taking her family in a unmarked City vehicle for a out of town trip to Austin...
