A Louisiana judge has resigned weeks after footage from her home appeared to show her repeatedly using the N-word and comparing a burglary suspect to a “roach.” Republican Michelle Odinet was Lafayette City Court Judge until Dec. 31, when she announced her resignation.
She was previously on unpaid leave. In a letter to the Louisiana Supreme Court, Odinet wrote that she took “full responsibility for the hurtful words.” Odinet came under scrutiny earlier this month, after footage emerged from her home, in which a woman could be heard using racial slurs. The video appeared to show one of Odinet’s sons describing her reaction to an attempted burglary of the family’s cars.
“And Mom’s yelling n****r, n****r,” the male voice said. A woman soon added “we have a n****r. It’s a n****r, like a roach.”
Odinet later blamed the incident on her “fragile” mental state at the time, and sedative use. “I was given a sedative at the time of the time of the video,” she told CNN earlier this month. “I have zero recollection of the video and the disturbing language used during it.”

Guerra you have enough problems of your own and you should focus on being a witness and not a suspect. The Sheriff can’t save himself and you can’t help him. You can’t keep anything to yourself much less any secrets. Sheriff Garza tainted the investigation since the beginning by being interviewed in front of the decedent’s body, but hey, way to play into your vanity. Garza let the investigation run its course before you put out a statement and make a fool out of yourself again just like your “recovered runaway / Amber Alert mistake. Then you have Lieutenant (too dumb to pass a promotional captain’s exam / Alice isn’t there to take the test for you) Diaz trying to take credit for the credit for your Investigator’s work. When they said you’re the focus of the investigation, they meant you’re a suspect. They weren’t giving you credit for it.

Garza is to blame for his, during the homicide that took place around may in Cameron Park, right after the arrest, Garza came out on the news saying that the arrest was made thanks to a DVR that was given to CID, well guess who turned that DVR in? CRUZ! The victim on this homicide, as soon as Garza opened his mouth releasing critical information Cruz was dead... and why? Because they knew Cruz had that DVR... and Cruz gave it to CID with the agreement that he was going to be confidential source, but Garza stupid ass gave him away and now he is dead.

Manuel Cruz helped in a murder that happened in Cameron Park in May. He gave the investigators a DVR that helped with the arrest of Ruben Torres, well our Sheriff Eric Garza, right after that arrest, he came out on the news saying that it was because "someone" provided a DVR they were able to secure the arrest...well that information should of have been confidential, what happened next? cruz gets killed along with his father.

I used to be amazed at the number of people who think they should be the ones who decide who should have rights and who should not. How do you determine the level of crimes you must be accused of committing for it not to matter that law enforcement may be responsible for causing your death? And who gets to say when it is okay for cops to facilitate a crime (this one happens a lot)? The law applies to everyone or, at least, I used to think that. It was one of the strengths of our system. But now we have apparently decided that things like law and order, ethics, fairness and democracy have outlived their usefulness.
The rule is: do not speak to cops.
What you say to them can be used against you....
