COVID-FREED FORMER DA MANDO VILLALOBOS LOOSE AT UTB

Special to El Rrun-Rrun

On Feb. 11, 2014, convicted former Cameron County District Attorney Armando Villalobos was sentenced to 13 years in federal prison for his role in a bribery and extortion scheme.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas, jurors in Villalobos’ trial found that he solicited and accepted over $100,000 in bribes and kickbacks in the form of cash and campaign contributions in return for favorable acts of prosecutorial discretion.

In his first emergency request filed April 14, 2020, Villalobos requested his sentence be reduced and he be released due to the risks posed by the coronavirus. U.S. District Judge Fernando Rodriguez Jr. denied the request on April 24.

On April 28 Villalobos filed another emergency motion for release to home confinement four days after his first motion for release was denied, court documents reflect. Apparently, his latest motion for home confinement was granted and now he roams among us.

Villalobos’ projected release from federal custody was June 18, 2025.

How does a guy with this type of felony conviction get a decent job? Baffling… seems more corruption is sprouting up.. it makes me wonder what Texas DPS will do about his unlicensed private investigator company that closed in 2020, but had a fraudulent address attested too in 2021 (under the penalties of perjury).

Didn't you mean to put this under Cebolla? Less than a month earlier he was released to home confinement, and then hired by UTRGV as a convicted felon. The state requires background checks before you can have access to medical records at a state facility.

Their web page does not list him as an employee.

This is why there are so many criminals. It's hard enough to catch them, then you have to indict them, then convict them, and even after convicted you have to hope they get jail time. And then after all this they still get early release. These liberal policies is why crime is increasing. Just look at the crime rates in Democrat states. And on top of that they defund law enforcement and let illegal criminals into our country.

It is nice to see a changing society. Where opportunities and second chances are granted, otherwise many would not be able to have a constructive engaging part within the community. This is great.

HE HAS BEEN COMMITTED TO ANOTHER INSTITUTION. FROM JAIL SUIT TO MENTAL INSTITUTION SUIT. HIS SMILE IS OF A SCHIZOPHRENIA. HE RUINED THE LIVES OF MANY. THE FAJITA ROBBER GOT LIFE FOR TARNISHING THE NAME OF DARRELL HESTER, VILLALOBOS DID WORST. HE, VILLALOBOS TARNISHED THE LAW OF JUSTICE.

What do you expect in the RGV? Ahora you let him loose so that he can be hired by the compadres that still owe him favors. The system needs some changes.

El BobbyWC identified himself as "Truth Finder," a nickname he had used earlier without using his name.

In regard to Cervants comment, about the web not labeling Villalobos as employee, only as project manager at Mireles Psychological. However, if you look up employees at Mireles Psychological, Villalobos is listed as employee. Villalobos is still considered CONVICTED FELON, under home confinement, but with employment at Mireles Psychological Health services. He doesn't seem too worried about contacting the Covid in Hidalgo County.

I agree, but how many ordinary felons, with no special connections, got a BIG second chance like Villalobos? Did he ever have the conscience to eat the HUMBLE PIE that he deserved. Yes, he did serve prison time, but who owes him BIG favors now? UTRGV?

Wasn't this dudes excuse to get out of prison covid related and now he's running around town.

It is amazing the amount of hate this blog produces. Those feelings can not possibly be good for your body. Inflammation, diseases, and other chronic conditions come out when such feelings are so deeply embedded within you. Sad to see so much hate. No wonder doctors make so much money in this community.
I presume that he got hired because he had the education, regardless of his history, there are programs that integrate individuals into society, or you rather pay the jail fee that we all must contribute to keep individuals jailed up? Or do we need another social service individual to gain access to free money because he can not support himself?
Be blessed and stop the hate. I am sure most of you are CHURCH-going individuals... what a joke!

5:54 pm. Dumbass.
Hate, diseases, money, society, education and religion has nothing to do with someone's opinion, past experiences or knowledge of the topic. You live in a shell. I know you do not go to church, what a joke!

Are his wages being garnished...he owes a shitload of restitution money!

Anonymous said...

Free him up some more. He’s got plenty of ‘satisfied’ customers who would love to renew their acquaintance with him.

You wouldn't be defending him, unless it's him typing or a family member. he's not welcomed here. Hope he keeps walking.
