Special to El Rrun-Rrun
Asst. City of Brownsville Municipal Judge Phil Bellamy, after being terminated from his position by city manager Noel Bernal, has filed a lawsuit asking the court for a temporary restraining order and for a temporary Injunction.
The case was filed Friday and 107th District Court Judge Ben Euresti scheduled a hearing on the petition for a restraining order for 8:30 a.m. February 28.
Bernal has overseen the changes in municipal court, terminating the contract between former chief municipal judge Bobby Lerma and appointing then-city attorney Rene de Coss to replace him. He also got the approval of a majority of the city commission to install city attorney Victor Flores in De Coss' place.
The shakeup and termination of Bellamy will undoubtedly result in demands by local female attorneys for the city to appoint a woman to the position, a lingering issue where women attorneys claim the city administration has discriminated against female lawyers.

At will employment.
He's fucked.
El Bellamy has no case.
next dust-up?
One would think a City Ordinance is in place to control or oversee how and where a political sign/banner may be placed or erected. I believe that at NO TIME should a political sign be allowed to be displayed ON or NEAR a public street curbside, public "Right of Way", and/where it is an obstruction of view to which it may or does create a danger to pedestrians and motorist alike. Obviously, the city is very much aware of this problem but ignores the DANGER it imposes to our community. I'm calling you out City Manager, where is the Safety/Code enforcement Department, BETTER YET WHERE ARE YOU? Protect those you serve, control this political graffiti that is displayed at almost every intersection, it's a DANGER, an OBSTRUCTION, and an ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN!!!

Where's that gringo protector el uzano enano loves gringos que paso?
I am sure that there is a reason for his termination? I'm sure that politics has a lot to it, also? So, is Bernal is going to kiss that female butt like the way the idiot in the White House is kissing black butt with the selection of a female to the Supreme Court?
BERNAL sucks and Helen Ramirez swallows.
Santa Fe New Mexico, paying city employees a minimum 12.95 an hour, due to cost of living and inflation.
@5:03 PM
Pendejo, if it were not for the Blacks, you, you fucking slow-brain Mexican, would not have the civil rights you now enjoy. Motherfucker. May God damn you!!!
Re: 12:20p
Appointed is not the same or even close to “at will”. The only thing thats fucked at this point is your level of intellect and reading comprehension.

Municipal Judges aren't at will, they have 4 year terms and Bernal, screwed up AGAIN. He was trying to screw Phil, like he did Bobby Lerma. Wait out the term and then, without warning ... you're out of here. But, this time he miscalCUlated AGAIN
If no action was taken within 90 days of Bellamy's end of term, then it's an automatic re-appointment. But, I am sure the law and facts don't matter to you because you are probably (1) a Bernal ass-kisser and (2) part of the Republicult. In otherwords, a Trumpanzee.
How many Bernal screw ups will the weak city commission allow? He's a disaster. It just took a while for this to become obvious ... just like Trey MendeX. They are a detriment to Brownsville. I wonder how the Grand Illuminated Parade will be, with no lights on Elizabeth St. What a joke. The clowns can't do anything right ... hijole!
Phil Bellamy: Give them hell. Call all your friends....get the support you need.
Con todo.
