CAPT. BOB HITS TWO CARS; HOISTS ANCHOR AFTER CRASH, TWO COUNTS OF ACCIDENT INVOLVING SERIOUS BODILY INJURY

Special to El Rrun-Rrun
By Brownsville Police Department
Robert Alejandro Sanchez (56) was taken into custody on February 1, 2022, at the Brownsville Police Station after turning himself in for the offense of Accident Involving Serious Bodily Injury (two counts).

Mr. Sanchez was involved in an accident at the 3800 block of North Expressway Frontage Road and Price Road on January 2, 2022, at approximately 6:30 p.m. Mr. Sanchez was driving his white vehicle when he struck another vehicle at the location.

(Sources say police have surveillance video from across the street from Capt. Bob's Restaurant on Price Road showing him leaving his restaurant with his little girl as passenger and the car was in good condition. A few minutes later, when he returned, the car was damaged as if he had been in a crash. The child was not injured)

This caused a chain reaction where the second vehicle crashed into a third vehicle. Mr. Sanchez then left the location without providing any information to the parties involved. Two of the people involved in the accident had injuries due to the crash.

A description was provided to the officers of Mr. Sanchez and the license plates to his vehicle. Several minutes later, Mr. Sanchez's vehicle was found abandoned at the 2400 block of Pablo Kisel.

The Brownsville Police Criminal Investigation Unit worked the case to which they secured a warrant for Mr. Sanchez. Mr. Sanchez was arraigned on February 1, 2022:

Accident Involving Serious Bodily Injury: $10,000 Bond
Accident Involving Serious Bodily Injury: $10,000 Bond

I guess facing charges of leaving the scene is better than getting caught with cocaine. Good move!

Tu si estas mas burro que el

Texas Transportation Code - TRANSP § 550.021. Accident Involving Personal Injury or Death

Anonymous said...

Leaving the scene of an accident involving death or serious injury is a third-degree felony, punishable by 2 to 10 years in a state prison. If the injury is not serious, it is a felony punishable by up to one year in a county jail or up to five years in a state prison and/or a fine of up to $5,000.

if you leave the scene of an accident, that technically is a hit and run. So, even if you come back, you still technically have been involved in a hit and run accident and you will be charged with a crime And given a "TICKET".

Do police investigate minor hit and runs in Texas?
Can You be Charged With Hit and Run If You leave the Scene in texas?
In the event of any hit and run incident, police are mandated to investigate. Even in the case of a minor hit and run where there may only be slight damage to property, no physical injuries, or if there is the involvement of alcohol.

Legal consequences of hit-and-run may include the suspension or cancellation of one's driver's license; lifetime revocation of a driver's license is possible in certain jurisdictions. It is frequently considered a criminal offense, which can be punished by fines and imprisonment.

The police officer will give you a ticket for “Leaving the Scene of an Accident.”
