(Ed.'s Note: Conspicuous by his absence at a candidate forum hosted by local veterans was JP 2-2 Jonathan Gracia, a candidate against Erin Gamez – seated, on top – for Texas House of Representatives District 38 to represent Brownsville. One vet put it quite succinctly : "It's a lack of respect, a slap in the face, to our local vets. We gave him the freedom to participate in a democratic election and he doesn't have the courtesy to listen to us."
