The NAACP is recognizing the 57 members of the Texas House of Representatives who took bold action by breaking quorum and traveling to Washington D.C. to fight back against Republicans’ attacks on Texans’ freedom to vote.
Rep. Alex Dominguez (D-Brownsville) issued the following statement:
“I’m proud to be a part of the Texas House Democratic Caucus and the Mexican American Legislative Caucus in receiving the Roy Wilkins Civil Rights Award from the NAACP. The freedom to vote is sacred and must be preserved and expanded at all costs. Our fight for those freedoms did not end last year and will continue until every American can freely and easily cast a ballot.”
The award was presented on night three of the 53rd Annual NAACP Image Awards on Feb. 23 on BET. Previous recipients include Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Justice Thurgood Marshall, Civil Rights lawyer Conrad Lynn, Rep. Ronald Dellums, and Civil Rights activist Cesar Chavez.

The welfare blacks are just that, cry babies for free money and food stamps. Can't work and always crying that they have been oppressed by the white man. The Mexicans or Hispanics know this facts that blacks are just loud and act stupid. The race card is just that ! Hispanics have been oppressed and are just a bunch of drunks but Hispanics work in every job given to them. Blacks don't like Hispanics taking their so called jobs and moving in to areas the blacks are selling their drugs and their prostitution. The few blacks that take the opportunities to advance themselves are not like by blacks. Wake up blacks and go to school and be something for yourself and not to others. Blacks are killing blacks in black neighborhoods because it's part of inherent traits. Look at the numbers, blacks can't be trusted until they change their attitude.
