It is sad no one really cares about the positions these people get elected to. Only people that make millioins or thousands from the elected officials care because they want to keep stealing tax payers money. The elected officials live in their own little world. They surround themselves by ass kissers and opportunist and feel good they are praised all the time. Meanwhile the cities and districts they represent continue to be the poorest int the Country year after year, decade after decade, generation after generation nothing changes. The poor continue to be poor and the rich continue to get richer.

It’s almost a rarity these days to be considered an Austin native, rather than falling into the transplant pool. Local natives of this state are considered nobodys together with their history.
So you must be one of a lot that are igorant about Austin and else where in this state. Texas state government doesn’t acknowledge, doesn’t recognize its own Indigenous history. So why would a somebody like yourself, consider non-wihtes to be nobodys Simple snarky and sarcastic and now how acceptable this level of ignorance is.

Brownsville doesn't need to be put down by politicians or billionaires. Local residents keep putting their own town down. You keep living in a place you put down and never do anything to change the outcomes, you put down residents, citizens, it's everyone's fault but yours. You hate this town? You hate Erin? You hate the Valley? LEAVE to California where gasoline is $7 dollars, where an apartment for rent is $1,500 a month and you have to move in with friends or relatives to afford living there; maybe Florida, where a crazy nut Cult follower has half the state's hate. Even better, move to Austin, Houston where construction jobs are abundant but distances and gas prices hit your pocket deep. Do something locally, if you hate the politicians. Cursing them, talking bad about Dems. or Reps, is NOT going to bring change.

Are you kidding? No one paid for my vote ( didn't even pick up a chicken plate), did someone pay for yours? I had a Vicente Gonzalez and LaMantia volunteers solicit my home promoting for their candidates. They didn't say what their candidates could do for us but asked who I was voting for. My response, " I'm not going to tell you who I'm voting for". Their approach was not a good one.

I hear that in Ovation at Olmito, all you need is your grandma or grandpa or even your ma or pa if they are over 62 and you can move in with them at no extra cost,even children are accepted. This place is amazing you can drink beer outside, have loud music, have car racing in the parking lot AND several drug dealers always close by.... Ain’t this some shiny new thing to say! Erin is a very sweet and genuine! I’m originally from the Valley and have noticed dramatic changes! People have changed! It’s sad! All I hear is money this and money that! I hope it does get better! Same where I’m at! It’s all democratic connected! I hope to see positive changes! Fair treatment without asking for too much!
