BLAST FROM THE PAST: SANCHEZ IN ELECTION FOR CONGRESS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DAN SANCHEZ ANNOUNCES BID FOR CONGRESS

Dear fellow South Texans,

My name is Daniel Antonio Sanchez. Most of you know me simply as Dan Sanchez. I was born in Harlingen, Texas, and grew up in a small farming community named Los Indios, Texas, where I spent my youth working in the farm fields.

South Texas summers were brutal, especially when picking okra, but those years served me well in providing a well-rounded understanding of the hard work it takes to put food on the table. It also assured me that I should earn an education to better my life and that of my family. My parents instilled in my siblings and me the value of hard work, integrity, respect for others, service to your neighbor, and most importantly, a strong Christian faith.

Upon graduating high school, I went on to study at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, where I received my Bachelors of Arts in 1995. From there, I attended The University of Texas School of Law in Austin, where I received my Doctorate in Jurisprudence in 1998.

Over the past 20 years, I have gotten to know you through one or more of my positions serving the people of our community. My public service began in 1999 as an Assistant District Attorney for Cameron County. In 2003, I was sworn in as Justice of the Peace, and served as your judge until December 2010.

Beginning January 2011, I served as your Cameron County Commissioner for Precinct 4 until 2016.

Throughout those years, I had the pleasure to meet many of you and your beautiful families.

As an Assistant District Attorney, my role was to prosecute those who committed crimes and help victims get justice. As a judge, I had the privilege to preside over the people’s court. My passion in the court however, was my Truancy Program where I worked tirelessly to keep kids in school by promoting education and ensuring kids and their parents had the resources and tools to keep children learning and out of trouble.

As a County Commissioner, I was charged with the oversight of the county budget and development of infrastructure and community projects. Because of relationships at the federal and state level that I had garnered over time, I was able to solve several drainage issues that others before me had been unable to resolve. One of my proudest achievements as a Cameron County Commissioner was the creation of the Cameron County Veteran’s Court.

The Veteran’s Court of Cameron County has helped countless Veterans resolve their legal issues without having to be convicted of crimes as a special consideration for their service to our great country.

As you can see, I have dedicated my life and education to serve others. Over the last five years I took a pause and have dedicated myself entirely to my wife Alejandra (Alex) Quevedo, and my two wonderful children Daniel (11) and Alessia (8). My family and I have truly enjoyed these last few years of time off from public service. All along, we knew that the time would come to get back to work and serve our community.

And, today I tell you that time has come and I am ready and willing to step up to the plate and serve my community again – this time in an interim basis.

When Congressman Filemon Vela retired last week from the U.S. House of Representatives, immediately vacating his position, I knew I had to be there for my community and for the Vela family. The people of South Texas need a strong leader who will advocate for them in Washington, D.C., while not missing a beat. In November of this year, there are already two people on the ballot for the new 34th District of Texas.

Whoever wins the General Election would be sworn-in January 2023, but until then, there must be representation for South Texas. Texas Governor Greg Abbott called a Special Election on Monday, April 4 that calls for an individual to finish Congressman Vela’s term from now through January 2023. Over the years, I have demonstrated my strong leadership and am ready to continue to serve with proven results.

That is why I now come before you, in the most humble of ways, to announce my candidacy to be your next Congressman representing the 34th District of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C.

I have the full support of my family, friends, and many leaders in our community, including South Texas Congressman Vicente Gonzalez. I also have the support of retired Congressman Filemon Vela.

I now come to you and again humbly ask for your vote and support. Together we can win this Special Election and continue to carry the torch with our South Texas values at heart.

Early Voting starts on Tuesday, May 31. Election Day is Tuesday, June 14. God Bless you and yours, God Bless Texas, and God Bless America.

Should you want to learn more about my campaign, please email us at teamdansanchez@icloud.com for more information.

Sincerely,

Dan Sanchez

Fat Dan is SO FAT that in the courtroom, he has to LEAN AGAINST furniture in order to stand. He is definitely someone who has no SELF-CONTROL in his own life but wants to legislate what you can do or not do in your life. FAT DAN is certainly the mirror image of the worst city in the U.S. to live. FAT DAN says...” I’m your Brownsville man”! Bawhahahaha

Is this our fat, bearded Dan Sanchez? His time came and went!

Dan Sanchez you sir do not get the reality, Vela nor Vicente Gonzalez are honest good people. Why is it that Vela resigns before his term and why did he distant himself from the Biden Administration? Why is it that Vicente Gonzalez would not touch the vacancy? It is obvious that these two individual amigos want out. WHY? Then you come and want to save the Velas', You sir didn't do shit while you were Assistant Dist. attorney, as a matter of fact your name came up as being just like as corrupt as convicted Limas, and Villalobos. Cameron County does not appreciate amigos like you. By the way who gives a shit if your family, friends and leaders support your involvement? You have done SHIT for Cameron County. This is my opinion. Let the FBI do its work. I agree on one thing may GOD BLESS TEXAS and rid of corrupt so call leaders, who have misled us for so long.

I cannot believe that we could not come up with better candidates to fill the slot abandoned by Filemon Vela? Isn't there someone out there who will represent the voters of Cameron County? Vicente Gonzalez is from Hidalgo County and does not have any loyalty to Cameron County. Dan Sanchez is not the candidate for this district. He is all about himself and a title for his resume. I will vote Republican because of the poor choices in the democrat ticket.

Mr. Sanchez, it looks good on paper but in the back of my mind I can not
forget how many other politicians have sounded like you and when the time comes down to the nitty-gritty, their pocket linings are more important. Too many have made a mess out of things, and we just take it with some chili pepper on it. Please evaluate your story and your commitment. Don't add your name to another one that has failed us.

PROVEN RESULTS LMAOOO YOUR JUST A BACKSTABBING GREEDY MAN JUST LIKE THE REST OF THE COMMISSIONERS AND THE COUNTY JUDGE. PERIOD.....

I like Dan Sanchez but don’t like the political party he aligns with. I also hate that he’s being endorsed by Vicente “chingando la gente.” People of Cameron County, Vicente “Chingando la gente” was my rep in District 15. I’ll be blunt, you all screwed up by nominating him for the Democratic Party.

Who is Hinojosa backing???

Dan is the man and he’s got a plan. I’m his biggest fan and he’s going to win a seat for Congress. Dan is an effective campaigner. He has a large following of supporters. Hope all of Cameron County rallies behind him and helps him defeat the Republican!

Filemamon Verga quit. He did not retire. He quit to take a job as a lobbyist. I'm sure that the FBI is already monitoring communications between Vela and Chente con los Chinos Gonzalez.
