Harris County Employees indicted by DA for NO BID CONTRACT FOR COVID SERVICES! Mr Saenze we voted you in to prosecute fraudsters you’re up to bat sir. Eder is taking his staff on an all paid vacation to Vegas including meals and rooms on our hard earned TAX DOLLARS! Confirmed! Mr Saenze it’s time to step and lead this investigation we cannot let the select few decide that they can use our tax dollars to benefit themselves! Follow the money!

How do our elected officials expect us to VOTE YES with this next deal when we can’t trust them. Show us don’t tell us, step up and prosecute! We want answers!

Study the proposal and vote as you deem necessary, but being that Brownsville is the largest city in South Texas, it is a shame that we do not have the same facilities and events that up-valley cities do. Now that someone is trying to get us something besides bicycle trails and cantinas downtown, we need to take a good look at the positive aspect of the project. What a shame that our old Jacob Brown Auditorium and the small event center do not provide for the population growth in this area. It is time to move forward.

NO

Let’s embarrass the corrupt county judges again by voting NO a second time. The people have already spoken.

An Arena? How about they fix the corruption within the cities, their cops, and their chiefs. The streets, the homelessness, and the infrastructure. Then they can think of an arena that only those that have the ability to pay will enjoy. It's like downtown, the people that live downtown, can not afford the amenities that are popping up! Gentrification at its best allows for the newcomers to enjoy what the old residents watch them have fun with. WTF!
This is not for the entire population, but for the few. What type of income will it bring in? where will that income be allocated?

"being that Brownsville is the largest city in South Texas, it is a shame"

SHAME is when no one visits your run down city, shame is when coorupt politicans want a cut on every project that they think off. Shame is then you can't get to the other side of town with stopping at every corner and wait for the light to turn green you and 20 more cars. Shame is when there is a drizzle and it floods. Shame is when a ESTUPIDO like yourself can't see or won't see the run down this city is, you must be an elected official or a kiss-ass.

AND THE POTHOLES AND THE USELESS BIKE TRAIL AND NO BUS SHELTER PINCHE LOOSER!

Shame??? Now it is a shame when certain self proclaimed elitists get free grant money by getting inside information and jump to the front of the line. Create jobs? The one's getting the jobs are the companies who will help build this facility. Have you lined up your buddies in getting these contracts? How was this approved on getting this item on the ballot again when it was voted down less than 4 months ago? Build this with your own money and your private investors. Don't be greedy, look at conflicts happening around the world. Not having an arena is a First World Problem!! Shame on You !!

Vote no! We don't need an arena.
Me as a City employee can't get a raise and have no health insurance.

Look at the #s. Page 243 of the 2021-22 County Venue Fund Budget. The current collections of these Venue taxes totaling $2.8M are already committed to other projects. Just to amortize $33 million, these hotel occupancy taxes & rental fees would have to increase by 42%, exclusive of maintenance & operations....and the remaining $67M?

The latest info circulating is the following: - an additional fee will be added to ticket sales - the state will refund 2% of the sales tax for quality of life projects such as this - the Arena would be selling luxury suites & rentals - a semi pro basketball team has committed to coming if its built - Live nation concerts have committed to coming to the Arena. And yet some continue to compare to San Antonio & Houston in terms of fee structure. Any differences? How about that of tourism, population, location & demographics. How many times have we heard from our leaders that we live in the poorest area in the country. If so, how can we realistically sustain this project. We cannot rely on visitors alone. Lastly, if all these commitments are for real, why not share this info with the general public? Show the public the feasibility study along with the assumptions that supports this project. The cost of this endeavor isn't even including the costs to run utilities to the property which will be passed on to the PUB ratepayers. This project is rushed with little info being provided to allow for the voters to make a sound decision. Bottomline, do you trust the current county leadership with this project. The next thing I'm waiting to hear is that Paul McCartney has committed to 6 shows per year if the Arena is built.

You guys are fking idiots. More buildings mean more taxes collected by the city. Which equals more funding to fix the roads, flooding, yall crying about. Hopefully they build a top golf there so yall can have something to do instead of crying all the time.

Build a 100 million dollar roof at Sam's stadium and you got yourself an arena.

Right next to downtown, downtown hotels, restaurants, cheap pizza and wine, nightlife, what else do you want.
This will revitalize downtown.

Not really: roads are not fixed, flooded streets have never been fixed, and only the rich go and play golf.

Yet, people pay taxes, salaries are low, and residents of Brownsville are good people. The leaders are not good. They have no love for Brownsville.
