Why you need a 10k arena for. You people can't even bring a clown show!
Let’s begin. The county should not be in the business of entertainment and promotions for which it is neither qualified to be doing nor have meaningful experience to do it. Exhibit 1, the Isla Blanca amphitheater. When was the last time you used it’s facility? Most haven’t. If a person is passing by, they cannot park as gates are closed to the public most of the time. Want to use the bathroom? Sorry. It’s locked by the county facilities guy. This is despite the fact that it belongs to the residents of the county! It is paid with tax dollars. Why is it not open to the public like other county public facilities between business hours?
The reason is power and control by the county officials and developers that will unlock the money to pay themselves by building a facility that will never attract the likes of Elton John nor Luis Miguel, both of whom performed in Hidalgo and McAllen where more professionally run facilities and real managers can be entrusted to run an event of a certain magnitude.
The only way to vote for this is if Cameron county government and developers get out of the way and hand it over to the private sector to build and manage it, the way Hidalgo and Mcallen and many others do it.
Cameron county should not be in the entertainment and promotions business. Instead, support fixing certain county roads, infrastructure and hire great Sheriff deputy candidates to keep the county more secure.
Now that’s a plan I can get behind.
Sports Park cost 40 million dollars...Where are the Profits to the City of Brownsville and its Citizens??

Our clown show's are at the city ,county and Port, and we actually pay some of their salaries.

If this is so, do you really think that an easy 100 or a free food plate will make everyone vote how you would want ? This reminds me of when my friends father was running for constable and they showed up at my home to give me a ride to vote. I took the ride, but I voted for the opponent. I had already decided, way prior to the ride ,who I would vote for. An easy 100, a free chicken/enchilada plate, easy access to vouchers, etc. is not always going to sway votes.

The arena will be built and will be great for the community. If the majority vote is NO then what will happen? Private investors will raise funds and build it anyway. Then everyone who voted no will have to pay for it and worry about tax increases. Dont be so dumb people. Suck a cock
