GOT YOUR TAX STATEMENTS FROM THE CCAD YET? GET READY!

 Special to El Rrun-Rrun

A homeowner in what can only be described as a middle income neighborhood near the intersection of East Elizabeth Street and Boca Chica is saying that the appraisals from the Cameron County Appraisal District has the taxable value of his home rise by 52 percent from 2021 to 2022.

There have been minimum improvements to the property, he said, and in looking around the neighborhood, he can see no other homes that could possibly be worth $200,000.

"This is the old section of Brownsville east of Boca Chica and E. Elizabeth," said the homeowner. "Where did the 52 percent increase in taxable value come from?"

According to him, there have been no additions and the only improvements was the replacement of corroded plumbing with above-ground PVC pipes.
"That was hardly worth the additional $70,000 that the appraisal district is listing."

Taxpayers are given 30 days to appeal the appraisals.

Have you received your 2022 CCAD statement yet?

If you contested, they can't increase your property value.
I mentioned this last year.

I SAID THIS LAST YEAR.
PLEASE PROTEST THE INCREASE, IT IS YOUR MONEY IT IS YOUR RIGHT..

PROTEST THE INCREASE VALUE. THEY WILL HAVE TO KEEP IT AT LAST YEAR VALUE.
YOU WILL SAVE AN EASY 1,000.00 DOLLAR ON THE LOW END, PER YEAR.
THE LUCIO SUCIOS HAVE SCREWED OVER THE PEOPLE IN RANCHO VIEJO. BY TELLING THE BOARD OVER THERE HOW TO DO IT. THE MAYOR MENDES WAS PART OF THAT MEETING.

Remember, Governor Abbott reduced the property tax rate last year. So, you would be paying less taxes. And the county would be making less money.
Now, for the Cameron County to make up for the loss revenue.
THEY ARE TELLING YOU THAT YOUR PROPERTY VALUE HAS INCREASED, MEANING YOU HAVE TO PAY MORE MONEY TO THEM.
IT IS A LIE!
IT IS A LIE!

BROWNSVILLE IS RANKED 13TH IN THE STATE OF TEXAS WITH THE DIRTIEST WATER QUALITY!!!

VOTE NO ARENA!!!

Yet, when I wanted to sell my property, I was offered less then what the Appraisal District says my property is worth. So the Property Taxes office has to communicate to the buyers the correct value of our properties.

WE WIN. Now I am the owner of a very valuable home and plot of land.
