WANNA HEAR TREY EXTOL HIS ROLE AS MAYOR? GOT 50 CLAMS?

Special to El Rrun-Rrun

Want to hear how City of Brownsville Mayor Trey Mendez has lifted the city from the depths of poverty, brought a commercial surge and prosperity all the while battling a pandemic with one hand and trying to grab public economic development funds with the other.

Well, you can this Thursday. But it'll cost you $50 smackers if you want to be at the Events Center rubbing elbows with the Chamber of Commerce worthies. If not, you can go online at home or stream on your cell phone.

The presentation will focus on Mendez's herculean efforts for the City of Brownsville to accomplish "growth, innovation, and a stronger community." And we thought that all this exclusiveness was over when Tony Martinez left office.
Location:Brownsville Events Center
1 Event Center
Brownsville, Texas
Date/Time Information:
Thursday, April 21, 2022
Registration: 11:00 AM
Program: 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM

Contact Information:
Send an Email
Fees/Admission:
Single Ticket - $50
- 1 ticket per attendee (Open to members and non-members of the
Brownsville Chamber of Commerce).

Dare we ask where the funds garnered by the show will be used? Or is that none of our beeswax and only the Chamber honchos will be privy to how it will be used?

So the city people are being held hostage by the Chamber of Commerce? So then the chamber of commerce and their business members should pay for the desperately needed bus shelters, the paving of new roads? Enough of the corporate welfare. Juan do a FOI request to see if the chamber is paying the city for the rental of the venue or if the city is doing it for free? Haz preguntas Montoya!

We pay to listen to this Smurf jajajajaja ftp! You’re OUT NAPOLEON! Crooked mf!

The City of Brownsville leadership should hold this event in McAllen. That way, on the drive up, they could see how successful the Upper Valley is.

"State of the City", what a joke. The city takes months to repair potholes. In contrast, downtown streets were totally repaved due to the Mayor's business in the downtown area. Pura pinche rata de dos patas en Brownsville politics.

National Digital Inclusion Alliance listed Brownsville and Pharr as the top two worst connected cities in the country with a population of over 65,000. For Brownsville, 47.1% of households do not have broadband of any type.

The state of bullshit of Brownsville. Things are going good for the mayor and city commissioners in picking up grants for their business. 50 dollars to the poor people to keep them out from hearing lies and lies and more lies. Everything is going great for Brownsville the little guy will tell you. A project is coming to Brownsville, a city bus line to take citizens to McAllen to go shopping for free. By the way, bus line is owned by the mayor. Guest speaker will be his friend Putin to them how to get more money from the stupid people of Brownsville.

There never were any jobs for the locals only lawn keepers and gardners... gracias muskies.

They're charging $50 to attend this nonsense? Even if they pay me $500 to as attend I would refuse the offer to attend and hear nothing but lies. Seeing all these public officials who avoid paying property taxes due to the Historical designation bullshit on their personal homes and businesses makes me sick to the stomach,so pathetic. Hope voters will keep all these nonpaying public officials from being reelected.

You have to pay to see how your city is doing? Only in Brownsville you see this crap, maybe they dont want the average citizen to attend so they can continue doing what they do best, which is corruption.

$50.00 to see how the city is doing? Instead Just drive around and see for yourself. Better yet, fill your car up with $50.00 worth of gas and drive to McAllen where you will see prosperity, massive growth and much smarter people. Check out all the new hotels, eat at much better restaurants that are not run by 15 year old children from matamoros. I will tell you the state of Brownsville, it SUCKS!

Why do we have to pay $50 to listen to this Minion of a worthless mayor. This so-called state of the city circus event should be free to all Brownsville citizens.

Brownsville needs sidewalks, lights, flowers, jobs, recycle bins, community gardens, projects to help restore old homes, etc

Brownsville needs a politician/mayor that loves Brownsville.
