My grandfather ran the meat department at HEB Downtown before he retired. My grandmother purchased all her food and groceries from HEB for years. Today, for downtown residents, the name is long forgotten. So sad......

Brownsville is a very collective society, meaning everyone needs to preserve the group before themselves, which is fine, until you begin to notice that this "group" isn't actually a group made of people but a blob of generic "peopleness".
