UVALDE MAYOR: UVALDE ISD, LOCAL POLICE, DPS COVERING UP

By Greg Norman
Fox News

The mayor of Uvalde, Texas, is now accusing state law enforcement of orchestrating a "cover-up" in the Robb Elementary School shooting investigation as questions remain as to why police didn’t engage the gunman sooner.

Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin made the remark to CNN as the Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the May 24 attack, which left at least 19 students and two teachers dead.

"I think it’s a cover-up, [Texas Department of Public Safety Director Steven] McCraw is covering up for maybe his agencies or maybe he told the story he told that you know ... what do they say ‘it’s always hard when you tell a lie that you have to keep telling a lie’. I’m not saying he is lying, maybe he was misled," McLaughlin said.

"Every agency in that hallway is going to have to share the blame," he added, referencing criticism as to why responding officers didn’t engage shooter Salvador Ramos earlier than they did. "And like I said, again I’ll go back to when have you ever seen a federal or state law enforcement officer take their cues from local law enforcement."

McLaughlin also said "when I got to that scene, there were 30 to 40 DPS officers already on-scene" and that "these families in this community, they deserve to know what happened."

McCraw said in late May that responding officers didn't immediately engage the shooter because "the on-scene commander at the time" — who he identified as Uvalde schools police chief Pete Arredondo — "believed that it had transitioned from an active shooter to a barricaded subject."

"A decision was made on the scene — I wasn’t there — that this was a barricaded subject situation, there was time to retrieve the keys and wait for a tactical team with the equipment to go ahead and breach the door and take on the subject," he continued. "At that point, that was the decision, that was the thought process."

McCraw later said "from the benefit of hindsight from where I am sitting now, that of course it was not the right decision, it was a wrong decision, period, there was no excuse for that."

But Arredondo said in June that he never considered himself the incident commander on-scene.

the mayor of Uvalde is a Republican. That's why this is from FOX News.

Montoya is, again, clueless

Whatever happened to the "One riot, one Ranger" myth?

Texas Rangers were also on the scene. Cowards, they were.

The most common symptoms of BA.4 and BA.5
Here, where BA.4 and BA.5 also account for the majority of new Covid cases, the most common Covid symptoms were runny nose, sore throat, headache, persistent cough and fatigue.
GET VACCINATED!!!

If I see someone in danger, am I going to wait to get permission from someone to go save them. Now is the perfect time to break an order if it is going to save so many innocent young children. Shame on all those who failed those children and their teachers! It does matter that they go to the bottom of this in their investigation but what good will it do for those children who are no longer with their families? Thoughts and prayers! Balony! Get something done in getting rid of ASSAULT rifles; the name itself warns you that someone intends to assault someone with it.

Much of this may have been alleviated if all the talking heads would've simply taken a breath and thought about and checked their message. Talking heads from DPS gave the impressions they were in charge of the situation, knew all, and were quick to criticize others. Everyone involved in this situation made a mistake. DPS officers were happy and eager to show there armament. You have it, use it to save lives. As for USBP, focus on the border and leave the police work to, well, not the cops that were there. May the hearts of the families attain rest. As for law enforcement, shame on you.

It happened on school district property. It was his jurisdiction and his responsibility.

If his department was not up to task, he should have relinquished command to someone else.

Oh he's lying there were at least 8to 10 dps troopers with assult rifles in the hallway within 20 minutes of the massacre and they did nothing but wrinkle there uniforms.

TIME FOR THE BLAME GAME , NO RESPONSIBILITY TAKEN BY ANYONE

I want to know if the shooter was continuing to fire his weapon; taking more lives while armed law enforcement stood by.
There should be audio that will tell what was happening.
If the shooter was continuing to fire his weapon and children were dying because on scene law enforcement was standing around, then anyone there should be fired.

At the Tienda Amigo building collapse, the Dept. of Public Safety troopers were walking around like ducks on Bernard St. At least five troopers I saw, one behind the other, brushing off the top of their uniform shirts, but not picking up one damn brick. Join the DPS, lead the exciting life of busting drunk drivers. Rip Ford and the old Rangers were fucking criminals and anti Mexican. There has never been anything heroic about these Rangers. This was clearly demonstrated in Uvalde. The mother that went and rescued her two kids had more balls than all these cowards.

If the mayor of Brownsville and Cameron County judge were in charge, these guys would go to the local taco restaurant to figure out who is in charge. I have yet to hear who was the County judge of Uvalde?

It’s easy to be a backseat driver. All of you guys criticizing law enforcement wouldn’t have acted if placed in the same situation. You don’t sound brave or intelligent. You all just sound like a bunch of whiners. How many of you losers have ever dodged a bullet? These police officers that responded that day had not only the shooter in mind but also the safety of the students and school administrators. Were there mistakes made that day? Definitely! But as sad as it is sounds you only learn through your mistakes. Training in these scenarios is not the same as actually being there. After the investigation is completed anyone found guilty of failing to perform his or her duties as per textbook requirements should be held accountable.

Training is important. These officers think differently than us. We are scared...they are not. We are emotional...they are not. We cry and scream...they do not do any of this.

We are not brave nor intelligent...that is why we are not officers. These officers know how to act, protect, and serve. Plus they know how to use guns.

The students were minors....they were supposed to be saved by these officers.
