Congratulations to our Tax Assessor-Collector Mr. Tony Yzaguirre and our County Tax Office for being awarded the 2022 National Achievement Award on behalf of the National Association of Counties for Excellence in the Consolidation of Tax Revenue Collections.

The association recognized Cameron County under the financial management category for being 100 percent tax consolidated countywide, and for having drive-up lanes available for the collection of county revenues.
Congratulations to our Tax Office for this outstanding achievement and for expanding services via drive-up lanes!

They need to be more proactive.
Every month they should place ads: facebook, twitter, webpage, radio and newspaper to encourage people to pay their taxes ahead of the October dates.
People can give downpayments: twenty dollars, $40 dollars every month.... some people in Brownsville have a budget, are retired etc....
Otra fake award that organization charges the county or city 50k a year to join and as a token gives the paying pendejos this award. In reality it should go to the paypayers pendejetes not the department....
The recognition should go to the taxpayer who is constantly overburdened by the continuous increases. If it not one its another raising our taxes. It’s a never-ending cycle. These entities should learn to operate with less but it easier to just raise the taxes.

Wow, they give awards for average expectations? A drive thru lane? Isn’t that what is banks have had for almost 40 years now?
A better expectation would be to completely outsource collections to the banks without spending to staff and build county drive thrus with our taxes, saving money. Now that’s an award I applaud!
Btw, this is exactly what other counties, more sophisticated and educated probably do already. If I had time to research my idea, I would expand it. For now, let’s applaud grandiose mediocrity from Eddie Treviño.
