In Mexico, they call a bother who embarrasses an elected official through his misdeeds "el “hermano incómodo,” that is awkward, cumbersome, embarrassing, or inconvenient.
That is what Moises Sanchez, brother of San Benito attorney and city commissioner Carol Sanchez, has become for the Resaca City elected official.For three years, through repeated motions for continuances and case resets, she moved heaven and earth to get three felony charges filed against him for one count of alleged aggravated sexual assault of a child and two charges of indecency with a child though sexual contact stretching from from May to July of 2015 dismissed in February 2018 .
Now bad boy Moi has gotten himself into hot water again, this time on two charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and two of Possession of a Dangerous Drug. The charges were filed by the San Benito Police Department at the end of August, and Sanchez was arrested and booked before being released on bond.
The Sanchez clan is well known to the San Bene cops. Remember in 2019 when – in an altercation
at the commissioner's father at his residence – the local gendarmes were called after shots were heard, allegedly fired by her ex-husband (David Lee Hernandez) at his father-in-law (her father).
However, David Lee apparently fled before the coppers got there but turned himself in later and was booked into the county hoosegow after his arrest by the San Benito cops.
After the victim willfully evaded county prosecutors and investigators, the Cameron County D.A.'s Office moved to dismiss because the victim was uncooperative and could not be found and refused to testify.
Now, after Moises Sanchez has bonded out on the drug charges, San Benito residents are wondering whether the law applies to the commissioner's "hermano incomodo."
"Now it is gonna be interesting to see if he gets away with it like he did with those 3 Felony charges he had a few years ago," wrote one. "Looks like the Sanchez Family is above the law in San Benito."

Not to worry they have precedent on his case. Half of brownsville brothers incomodos have done the same and their cases have been DISMISSED. Not to worry sanbene just follow brown town's lead...y todo esta MUY bien.

It is said that guy drove an 18- wheeler in town taking out light polls and hitting parked vehicles and damaging property. Then by what is looks was caught with some illegal drugs. Why didn’t the city come out with a press release someone could have gotten seriously hurt in all this. He will get away with this one also very well connected they say.

And i hear commissioner Sanchez X-husband, husband or whatever has a trail date next week. He is charged with evading in a vehicle and possession of controlled substance by San Benito police. He will get away with these charges also. So it does pay to have connections.

Heck X-San Benito Mayor Benjamin Gomez was convicted in 2004 for assault for causing bodily injury to a family member. But yet he sits on the San Benito EDC BOARD with no problem.
