VOTE DENISE GARZA, BISD PLACE 2. INDICTED CARLOS ELIZONDO, FIRED COUNSEL SALAZAR BACK HER OPPONENT

Early voting locations: https://www.cameroncountytx.gov/elections/index.php/locations/#post-10278

Special to El Rrun-Rrun

Early voting starts today and runs to Nov. 4. In the interview above, El Rrun-Rrun interviewed incumbent Brownsville Independent School District Place 2 board member Denise Garza. She faces Victor Caballero. Caballero has has allied himself with former BISD board member Carlos Elizondo.

Elizondo (for Place 1 against incumbent Drue Brown) has aligned himself with candidates Caballero (Place 2) and  Frank Ortiz (Place 4 against incumbent Prisci Roca-Tipton). Another Place 1 candidate, Phil Cowen, criticizes Elizondo and the other two in that slate for Elizondo running while under indictment. Writes Cowen:

"Elizondo has been indicted several times, and is currently pending trial for felony theft and felony misappropriation charges, see Criminal Indictments 2018-DCR-00631 (Theft property by public servant, less than $20,000) and 2018-DCR-0030 (misappropriation of $20,000 but less than $100,000). It’s clear all three hold out Elizondo’s indictments as badges of honor."

To make matters worse, Caballero and Ortiz are openly being supported by disgraced former BISD board counsel Baltazar Salazar, who is trying to get back the $335,000 gig that had been handed to him through political cash contributions and behind-the-scenes political maneuvering with former boards.

BISD - Nobody cares, Montoya.

You know it and I know it. Its board is made up of mediocre people.

(And Phil Cowen is too damned old!)

The Brownsville Public Utilities Board will hold another special meeting Monday to address matters related to the audit of the failed Tenaska power plant project.

The board is to further discuss the status of CEO John Bruciak, who last week was placed on leave.

No pay, no visiting his office, request an FBI investigation with the local D.A. and to include the hiring of cronys. Open up the availability to do business with other electric company just like everybody else in this COUNTRY. This is insane and unamerican.

Need to go and protest or just show up. Be vocal stop paying high electric rates. Rates here are the highest and this is considered the poorest city in the nation.
UNBELIEVABLE!

There are over 40 electrical companies that can do business here in Brownsville tx rates start as low as 10.6 per kwh. Protest to the city commissioners for more electric companies to service this area this is insane this anti democratic this is a highway robbery.... PROTEST AT PUB THE CITY NEWS MEDIA DO IT.....

Port Isabel had the same problem with one electric company until the citizens voted all the city commissioners out.
WE NEED TO DO THE SAME THING HERE PORT ISABEL DID IT WE CAN TOO....

These 3 Amigos..... are the worst 3 human beings! Lies, vindictive and making promises to people.
Why would any one vote a person that current has a case pending of theft in the District Court! The other 2 are just as guilty in association! If they can easily lie, before getting voted in...imagine the chaos they will create if elected. ??

Have you all read the letter attached to your utility bill? Read the section titled Resaca Fee. According to this letter the current Resaca fee of $4.50 per month will increase in 2023,2024, and 2026. The amount of the increases was not stated. ANOTHER SCAM. Who’s keeping track of this money? How much of this money is already lining the pockets of the corrupt?

The other scumbag that should not be voted back in is Joey (ay joto) Lopez. As usual, he's only in it for the money and nothing else. Another thing, please throw those damn khaki pants away. Surely you can afford a new pair...a different color, please?

How is it that a candidate with pending theft charges be allowed to legally collect and report campaign contributions after he had already been fined by the Texas Ethics Commission?
