The InsiderThe GOP House Rep. who got Elon Musk's first Republican vote earlier this year was booted out of Congress in the midterms just five months later. Texas GOP Rep. Mayra Flores lost her seat in the state's 34th Congressional District to Democratic Rep. Vicente Gonzalez by a wide margin. As of early Wednesday, 96 percent of the votes were counted, leaving Flores trailing by almost nine percentage points.
Flores had held the seat for just under five months, having flipped it red in a special election in mid-June after it was vacated by Democrat Filemon Vela. The district includes Musk's SpaceX base in Boca Chica.When Flores won in June, Musk predicted big gains for the Republicans that failed to materialize as results came in late on Tuesday.
"I voted for Mayra Flores – first time I ever voted Republican," he said in June, adding: "Massive red wave in 2022." "I voted for Mayra Flores – first time I ever voted Republican," he said in June, adding: "Massive red wave in 2022."
In May, he had been less definitive, saying that he has voted "overwhelmingly" Democrat in the past, but added: "Like I'm not sure, I might never have voted for a Republican, just to be clear."
He described himself as a "moderate" who leans towards neither party.
After her loss, Flores raged on Twitter about supporters not showing up for her (on Musk's Twitter, of course).Now, did Musk vote during the general election? We'll check.

So Elon Musk has permanent residency in the RGV? That would be the only to vote for her since she did not run for President of the USA. I would think he would have established address in the RGV. Have news for Mayra - 10,000,000 registered voters stayed at home in Texas and did not vote. DON'T BLAME, RESOLVE! Perhaps she can address this to the whole state instead of just the RGV. The issue here is that at least Democrats want to resolve issues that impact USA. Republicans never want to resolve issues but blame people. The question is where do you begin. Can you imagine if more people had voted, we might have a different outcome of what we have now.
Both our Texas RNC and DNC Chairpersons need to sit down and figure out a way to get more persons motivated to go out and vote. What one hates to hear a voter say is "No, I did not vote because it is already determined who is going to win" or "NO, I did not vote because it does not make a difference".
That is the reason Mayra got elected. Her count was low but was elected anyway. It had nothing to do with the best person qualified. If she was the right person for the job, she would be reelected now for her next term.
Sadly, Beto did not win but all the border voted for him and not Abbott. That was great news. All that was said about Beto was that he should not be elected because he was white with a Mexican nickname and that he was using that as a crutch. Well, Beto was the person that was batting for all Mexicans. Tell me who in the state of Texas has done that for us that has run for governor in the last 30 years? I praise him for going throughout the state meeting everyone he could and which represented every race and religion. He is not a racist but a man of empathy and courage and a man that wanted to do so much for this state. Regretfully, Abbott PAC money got him elected. Just read a news article that he was to meet in McAllen today but canceled. He was to meet with the PAC people from McAllen that gave him $64 million to help his run for governor. Well, people he won, so now he does not need so goodbye, farewell. That is the type of person he is. He uses you just like Trump uses people. The real truth is Abbott is for Abbott and not for any other person. That NRA funding keeps getting in his pockets and he is so damn happy about that. Just remember when the next serial killings occurs in Texas, thank him. BTW has he send out the DNA kits to schools in case our children get massacred so like he said, "that way they can be identified"? That statement gives me chills and makes me cry to think that is his resolution for serial killings. His resolution should be removing those war AR-15s from the hands of 18 year olds or from everyone. They are a weapon of war. This is what makes the USA a warzone. We are at war with our own people and our politicians could care less because the NRA is funding their political careers. When does that stop? Ask our police force, sheriff departments, deputy troopers, and police guards what they think about allowing anyone to open carry and how easy it is to obtain a weapon. It is making their job harder to do and harder to save your lives.

This whole if you didn't vote don't complain thing is total bullshit, I don't care what party or person says it. Anybody that pays taxes has a right to complain and we ALL pay taxes of one kind or the other. In this case Flores is just a poor loser.

Did she graduate from high-school or, at the very least, possess a GED? Did anyone verify? While she clearly was not qualified to be running for Congress, the answer to this question may have been the proverbial nail in the coffin to her political career.
