MESQUITES, HUISACHES, AND YUCCAS COLOR OUR SPRING

In South Texas,
When Spring springs
And the weather clears,
The mesquites and huisaches bloom

The mesquites, when the wind blows
And the trees sway
Look as if  a swarm of yellow,
fuzzy caterpillars
Are clinging to their green branches

And the huisaches
Dull and prickly all the year
Burst with yellow dingleberry blooms
Multi-colored oleanders adorn our view
And even the thorny cacti  flower
Only the desert olives
And the pita flowers are white
And dot the once-dreary, boring landscape and mud flats
with radiant blooms

Totally Gay, Monty.

How 'bout some news? Enough of the washerwoman observations. You're no Seinfeld!

Oh, yeah. And the small leaves descended singly and serenely, except now and then when a breeze entered and caused a momentary rain of leaves - what one weather prophet on local TV calls "inner mitten" showers.

Toya, thank you for giving us the opportunity to appreciate our tropical thorny forest. This weekend I learned that it is illegal to cut the pita/yucca flowers. Live and learn.

No, pos, no. Como decirle al hermano Juan que esto no llega a las ligas grandes de reporteros. Me llega que algo lo tiene jorobado. Su mente perdida como la mente de un menso.

Bueno, pero ay viene el Miercoles.
