(Update: It might have seemed like a good idea to mayoral candidate Jessica Tetreau to get a food truck to entice votes with tacos and burgers from Mi Pueblito and cokes, but apparently that fell afoul of city rules prohibiting campaigning on city property. She had invited voters on her Facebook page to a bite while they went to cast their vote. Numerous other candidates complained to the city administration wondering whether they could putone up as well and the city attorney' office called the candidate. Rather than belabor the subject, the candidate had the offending food wagon removed (top video). Of course, our creative meme readers added their own nostalgic touch. For what it's worth, a voter who partook of the snacks found them delicious. Oh, well!
Ed.'s Note: Joe Rodriguez used to stand by the back door of the library where voters enter and solicit his old friends and pupils for their vote on the sly. Jessica Puente-Bradshaw would give away sandwiches in the driveway to enter the library parking lot from Central Avenue. And in the past virtually all the candidates for office, BISD, BND, TSC, city, county, state and national, would be allowed to campaign and hang their signs on the Galonsky property across Central which now is a storage rental facility. Today, only Galonsky's signs are allowed to be posted there.
This morning we were called that supporters of mayoral candidate Tetreau had parked a food truck with her campaign signs in the library parking lot near the North Coria Street back entrance. The truck with the signs are beyond the 100-foot circle from the voting area where campaigning is prohibited, although it is inside city property.
The city is already allowing some candidates (Susan Ruvalcaba, for one) to place signs larger than the 4-X 8 feet on the sides of trailers, so Tetreau technically might not be breaking any rules or ordinances. But it does beg the question on whether her campaign is following the spirit of the law. Or does it matter?)

To be quiet honest, she’s not braking any of the rules but there needs to be a change in rules because this is too much! I find the entire area very hostile and I as an elderly women who is retired and defenseless don’t feel safe with all of the none sense caused by many of the candidates and their “supporters”. We know many of the camps currently involved because of their multiple failed attempts to win and it saddens me that they continue to persist with their hostile tactics, this is not healthy nor acceptable.

I was passing by as this altercation occurred and this was just another stunt by a classless/con-artist/pedohile/lying/can’t come out of the closet/narcissist named Erasmo. To her credit Jessica was simply just standing with her sign minding her own business with a fellow supporter. Erasmo is the individual who tried to throw pizza and initiated this issue.
