PRIDE OF PLACE? HARDLY. DISREGARD SIGN, NOTHING HAPPENS

(Ed.'s Note: Can people not read? The scene in the photo above repeats itself all over town and in the city's alleys. Construction debris, household garbage and used tires are often piled around the "No Dumping" signs warning of $1,000 fines, to no avail. Brownsville is rapidly acquiring the title of the dirtiest city in the RGV and with good reason. Local Realtors say that potential out-of-town clients are stunned at the level of uncleanliness here sad are often driven away by the trash and overgrown weeds and grass, even in the main thoroughfares.

We need to teach cleanliness to our coming generations so scenes like these won't happen as often as they do. "Cleanliness, yes indeed, is next to godliness," the saying goes. Maybe a few $1,000 fines and a few examples will put the fear of god into the illegal dumpers.)

Juan, look at yourself. You dress like a slob and appear to rarely brush your teeth, guey.

Cleanliness, yes.

Is that over at La Southmost, D.F.?

Fo' sure.....

Juan, it would be racist to have a sign in Spanish and even more racist to expect people to obey it.

This is something for the new Leadership in the Commissioners....

Every district should have a program every month for people to discard of this type of trash.

There is a truck that goes and picks up tires. They take long in doing this.

District 1: Commissioner will have a site and a date for dumping this trash.
District 2: the same
District 3 the same

Commissioner at Large: extra sites

Every month. Some people do not want to go to the landfill and pay 20 dollars for their trash.

The city and the commissioners should do this.
Now that will be a great improvement.

Remember "How clean a city is says a lot about its people" enough said.

Plus nothing gets enforced in Brownsville, that's why people think it's OK to do all the wrong and bad things they do.

Then we have the men that clean gardens, cut tree branches and then go and dump the materials all over the city of Brownsville.

They do not have the money to pay at the City Landfill.

Then we have the neighbors that place all the trash/garbage on the big GREEN tanks that are located in local businesses..

They do not put it inside the big tanks, they just place it outside the trash bins.

Then the City gives a WARNING to the owners of the businesses.... for not keeping the city clean.
Who complains about this? The neighbors....the ones that place the trash on the side of the trash bins.

8:39 you have the right idea but unfortunately this takes planning and effort from our elected officials.
But once they get elected they only start taking care of themselves . In a perfect world, your idea would be a good beginning to alleviate this nasty issue. I sure hope someone would consider something like this.

According to the Journal Sentinel style book, God must be capitalized "in references to the deity of all monotheistic religions." The lowercase "god" is only used in reference to gods and goddesses of polytheistic religions.

jUAN SIMPLE THERE IS NO CODE ENFORCEMENT- ENFORCEMENT IS THE MAIN WORD HERE. WHERE ARE THOSE CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS? DO THYE EVEN EXIST OR DO WE JUST HAVE ONE OR TWO FOR THE WHOLE CITY? JUST ASKING? MAYBE THEY WANT BETTER PAY LIKE $330K FOR THE CITY MANAGER, $245K FOR DEPUTY DOG CM AND $220 FOR ASST CITY MANAGER. NOW THAT WOULD MOTIVATE SOMEONE REALLY FAST. EL PORTER HOMIE
