Politics are interesting as you get to know peoples true colors in due time, sometimes right away and well others before they even start. It's obvious Ms Benavidez was going to run for reelection when she's attending with others like County Judge Eddie Trevino, Tax Assessor Collector Tony Yzaguirre, and the one and only gritona Sylvia Garza. Hope Tino Villarreal learned and lets go off Sylvia but maybe a little too late.
So why is Benavidez, Trevino and Yzaguirre out of their closet offices? Rumor mill is that Benavidez might have an opponent and that possibly being Tara Rios. Rios would win hands down. Another rumor being spread or supposedly overheard Sylvia saying Trevino is considering running against Erin Gamez. Sylvia would then run for county Judge which that's truly gotta be a joke. Lastly, Yzaguirre is said that he might also have an opponent to be none other than Little Eddie (Garcia). Stay tuned to see how all this develops in the next few weeks or months. Benavidez is said to have lost touch of her district. Trevino made out $$$ of Tenaska. Yzaguirre well lucked out from the indictments. Sylvia's track record on endorsements is not fairing well with her last major one being Jessica Tetreau for major, which didn't even make it close to a runoff!!! That was a major statement. People are tired of the old politics and ready for change . Slowly but Surely Charlie!
Linda Macias won on her own even if Sylvia tries to claim credit. C'mon the opponent was none other than Caty Presas who really didn't campaign and well carries some baggage. Sylvia hurt Tino Villarreal more than help. Susan Ruvalcaba down by 2% has momentum going and this extra time will be in her favor. William Garza knows what's good for Brownsville and this is why he's endorsing Ms Ruvalcaba. Call her what you'll want, she's looking ahead to make change.

Silvia Garza is bad for any candidate that associates with her yet, candidates try to stay away from her and she forces her way on them because she wants to take credit for their win.
