Eddie "el monito" Garcia will be present to award himself a 4th of July medal. He was quoted as saying, " Tony Yzaguirre no trae nada, le voy a comer el lonche"!

A chance visit to 7-Eleven inspired Dallas restaurateur Mariano Martinez's game changing invention...the frozen margarita machine. That first prototype now sits in the Smithsonian, and led to a Tex-Mex food revolution.

WHAT? Never heard of it. Made here, Concitas Authentic Mexican Tortilla Press, NOw this I have heard of and in use as of TODAY!!!!

You can visit Conchitas Tacos on Taylor callejon, to see the first prototype and in use as of this writing. Talk about a food revolution It kept all the kids in school, en todo el valle, and still does. Don't believe me just drive down el gran southmost and see all the taquerias using this great food invention.

We don't need no stinin' smithsonian!

VFW’s are established in many towns all across the country. They are a meeting place for local veterans to hang out , socialize and down a few. But these places are also open to the public, so they also serve as watering holes for parties, meetings, dances etc. That being said, i find it a bit unfair to castigate those true veterans(patriots) that chose to hang out and have a good time!! Because if you think about it , its because of them that we have the freedom to either party with them at the VFW or at any other bar, club or restaurant of our choice. So i say , give these guys a break, i think some of them have gone to hell and back to guarantee our freedoms/rights( which we sometimes take for granted). My opinion. Have a safe and happy 4th of July

Will be there be sure to have lots and lots of beer! After a war experience you need to drink beer, something yellow bellies don't know or never will know. At the fort where I trained yellow bellies cleaned the latrines, showers, cut the grass clean the garden and trees picked up the trash and other manual things. GOOD FOR NOTHING YELLOW BELLIES COWARDS AND TRAITORS.

Ira Hayes
Call him drunken Ira Hayes
He won't answer anymore
Not the whiskey drinkin' Indian
Nor the Marine that went to war
Gather round me people there's a story I would tell
About a brave young Indian you should remember well
From the land of the Pima Indian, a proud and noble band
Who farmed the Phoenix valley in Arizona land
Down the ditches of thousand years
The water grew Ira's peoples' crops
'Till the white man stole the water rights
And the sparklin' water stopped
Now Ira's folks were hungry
And their land grew crops of weeds
When war came, Ira volunteered
And forgot the white man's greed
Call him drunken Ira Hayes
He won't answer anymore
Not the whiskey drinkin' Indian
Nor the Marine that went to war
There they battled up Iwo Jima's hill
Two hundred and fifty men
But only twenty-seven lived
To walk back down again
And when the fight was over
And Old Glory raised
Among the men who held it high
Was the Indian, Ira Hayes

Ira, returned a hero
Celebrated through the land
He was wined and speeched and honored
Everybody shook his hand
But he was just a Pima Indian
No water, no home, no chance
At home nobody cared what Ira'd done
And when he did the Indians dance

Then Ira started drinkin' hard
Jail was often his home
They'd let him raise the flag and lower it
Like you'd throw a dog a bone
He died drunk early one mornin'
Alone in the land he fought to save
Two inches of water in a lonely ditch
Was a grave for Ira Hayes

Yeah, call him drunken Ira Hayes
But his land is just as dry
And his ghost is lying thirsty
In the ditch where Ira died
