AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN...RESPECT SCHOOL BUSES

(Ed.'s Note: See the white car between the stopped school buses? The first one had just finished unloading a student on Coffee Port Road and the one behind it was stopped waiting for the first bus to withdraw its stop sign and allow traffic to pass when the white car went around the second bus. The traffic behind it followed, ignoring the stop sign on the first bus.

It was only after oncoming traffic flashed on their lights to warn him that he stopped and waited for the first bus to withdraw the sign and start to move that he continued to pass it.

 What if he had hit a kid? With school on, motorists are warned to exercise extreme caution. You don't want to make a stupid mistake and hurt or kill a child because you were in a hurry. Regretting it later will do no good.)

The fines for passing a school bus stop sign in Texas can vary depending on the circumstances and the specific laws in place. It's important to note that traffic laws and penalties can change over time, so it's always best to consult the most up-to-date information from reliable sources, such as the Texas Department of Public Safety or local law enforcement agencies.

In Texas, passing a school bus with its stop sign extended and lights flashing is generally considered a serious offense due to the potential danger it poses to children. The penalties for violating this law can include fines, license suspension, and even criminal charges in certain cases. The exact amount of the fine can depend on various factors, including whether it's a first-time offense or a repeat offense, and whether any resulting accidents or injuries occur.

To ensure you have the most accurate and current information regarding fines and penalties for passing a school bus stop sign in Texas, I recommend consulting the latest edition of the Texas Transportation Code or contacting the appropriate law enforcement agency or legal professional. They will be able to provide you with the most up-to-date and accurate information based on the current laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.

Transp. Code Section 545.066
Passing a School Bus; Offense
(a)An operator on a highway, when approaching from either direction a school bus stopped on the highway to receive or discharge a student:
(1)shall stop before reaching the school bus when the bus is operating a visual signal as required by Section 547.701 (Additional Equipment Requirements for School Buses and Other Buses Used to Transport Schoolchildren); and
(2)may not proceed until:
(A)the school bus resumes motion;
(B)the operator is signaled by the bus driver to proceed; or
(C)the visual signal is no longer actuated.
(b)An operator on a highway having separate roadways is not required to stop:
(1)for a school bus that is on a different roadway; or
(2)if on a controlled-access highway, for a school bus that is stopped:
(A)in a loading zone that is a part of or adjacent to the highway; and
(B)where pedestrians are not permitted to cross the roadway.
(c)An offense under this section is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $500 or more than $1,250, except that the offense is:
(1)a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $1,000 or more than $2,000 if the person is convicted of a second or subsequent offense under this section committed within five years of the date on which the most recent preceding offense was committed;
(2)a Class A misdemeanor if the person causes serious bodily injury to another; or
(3)a state jail felony if the person has been previously convicted under Subdivision (2).
(d)The court may order that the driver’s license of a person convicted of a second or subsequent offense under this section be suspended for not longer than six months beginning on the date of conviction. In this subsection, “driver’s license” has the meaning assigned by Chapter 521 (Driver’s Licenses and Certificates).
(e)If a person does not pay the previously assessed fine or costs on a conviction under this section, or is determined by the court to have insufficient resources or income to pay a fine or costs on a conviction under this section, the court may order the person to perform community service. The court shall set the number of hours of service under this subsection.

Puro pendejo driving around Brownsville. No one makes complete stops. Drivers use shoulders and bike lanes to drive and turn. Passing red lights, speeding, etc. Driving over the school speed limit. Ambulance and Fire Truck passes and no one gives a hoot to move over. You drive obeying the laws and trying to do the right things and they honk at you as if you are in the wrong, when you are actully following the road laws. It's a jungle out there!

The texas governor has defunded the pay for medicare title B which pays for prescription drugs for senior citizens in all Texas. He ran out of funding when he purchased the red ballons and barb wire for el rio grande river. Now all seniors will get a lower social security check, orders from the Texas governor, starting in September.

The city needs to get more police officers in unmarked cars patrolling the schools. This would be a good way of producing more income for the city.

People nowadays don’t give a fuck about the law or civility. Everyone is so preoccupied with they social media , latte’s, smoothie’s and who the Kardashians are screwing. Total disregard for what’s important. That being said, you think a bunch of red lights coming from a huge yellow bus is going to deter them from their selfish ways. Not a chance. But i guess a childs life to these morons is not important.
