A critical nationwide worker shortage has companies locating and expanding in places where workers want to live, but culture war politics are complicating the equation.
CNBC’s annual ranking of state business climates considers Life, Health and Inclusion as one of ten categories of competitiveness.
The study measures quality of life issues including crime, health care, childcare and health care, as well as inclusive policies on discrimination and reproductive rights.

How could 200,000 college educated workers moving to Texas each year possibly be wrong?
It depends on how you look at it. With the nation’s highest percentage of people without health insurance and the second lowest number of primary care physicians per capita, all those new Texans are arriving to find a dismal health care system. Texas has the nation’s thirteenth-highest violent crime rate, and it ranks thirty seventh for licensed childcare facilities per capita.
The Lone Star State keeps hacking away at inclusiveness, with laws targeting the LGBTQ+ population, voting rights, and the nation’s strictest abortion ban.

Yes, there are enormous economic opportunities in Texas, and it is attracting people from far and wide. But this state also has some Texas-sized issues when it comes to life, health and inclusion. And it is one of the reasons that the state fell out of the overall top five for the first time in the 16-year history of CNBC’s rankings.

reproductive rights? Texas limits reproduction between a male and female?
Texas will continue to deteriorate in status and perception until governor Abbot/ policies stop eating away at the heart of this once proud and resilient state. The state of Texas and the majority of its leaders have fallen trap to the lies and conspiracy theories that have invaded our nation/society. Our state was once strong, law abiding and proud . But now , our so called leaders are content with grandstanding and advancing their own personal political agenda to stay in power at any cost. They abandon their constituents ( 2021 freeze,Uvalde massacre etc) for their own personal gain and nothing else. Unfortunately, shit rolls downhill , so expect things to get worse.
That’s what happens when you listen or read the bullshit from CNBC tan by liberals for the sheep!!!

Consider the source. Maybe you can convince people in Austin to leave our state.
Juan, a lot of people are rallying behind the racist Jason Aldean country song. Blogger Jim Barton is one.
In reality, of course, everything that keeps Redneck Aldean up all night in his song “Try That in a Small Town” actually happened in a small town — right there in Columbia, Missouri, around those same Maury County Courthouse steps, where the song's video is recorded.
Moms were attacked, store windows smashed, patriots disrespected, mobs in the street, cops shot trying to restore order — and then a group of local good ol’ boys stepped up in the night, the type raised right, to take care of business. The only difference: The out-of-control mob was white, and the locals who had each other’s backs were Black.
It is what it is: A song celebrating not freedom but Jim Crow!
damned straight!!!
FOX News legal analyst Andrew McCarthy in a recent article for the National Review had grim predictions about former President Donald Trump's ability to win the 2024 election. "I persist in the conviction that Trump doesn't have a prayer of being elected president again," McCarthy wrote, citing the former president's "unfavorability" that "hovers around 60 percent."
"The problem for Trump is he has no upside," McCarthy wrote.
Vote Biden!!!
The indictment of Donald Trump “will stand as a stark reminder to generations of Americans that no one, including a president of the United States, is above the law.”
fuck you down, Donald!
trump indicted again. and again. and again. falta georgia!

The country is going to shit and the local daily reports:
Valley’s newest Halloween store to hold grand opening Aug. 4 in Brownsville
no wonder they went broke
it would be ok but no address no phone number no hours and days of operations. so why write the story???
Voting for Trump and Texas is great place to work and live. Go to NYC, Chicago, Philadelphia all those black states, where crime is the norm, not for me.
