Wow 100 Brownsville residents! I guess we can conclude that Brownsville residents care about more important things like working 2 jobs to pay the light bill and taxes !

Couple of points: looks like commissioner Martinez is following in the footsteps of his mentor Roy (Spuds Mckenzie) De los Santos, addressing the public in shorts?? We know its hot but at least some jeans , kiddo ( its called professionalism). Secondly, instead of seeing you out and about the town checking out the trash laiden alleys, dilapidated structures and pot holes covering our streets you are grandstanding with yet another mural unveiling ???? Whats with the mural shit show now? Yes they are cheerful and pretty but how does this qualify as “ quality of life” projects as you guys called them recently? Once again PRIORITIES folks!!! There are far to many other pressing issues in Brownsville to be wasting your time on murals. It would be a totally different story if all the needs of our town were addressed FIRST and THEN you can put up as many murals as you want. C’mon city officials, its time to roll up your sleeves, get your hands dirty, enough of this petty shit!!! ( by the way, no offense to the artists, its not your fault)

If you have a loved one in jail in Carrizalez then you are being impacted too. At least, your loved one is, not even good food, no proper supervision due to no-one wanting the job as jailor due to the pay. Who wants the job as a jailor if fast food restaurants pay more.

Please clean the city from the trash, all over. It is embarrassing that our city is not a clean city. Where is the City Manager in directing the maintenance, clean up departments to start the clean up job. While the mural is a good idea, first impressions matter. Our city needs to be cleaned from the trash. Yes people may not care and use the side of whatever road they chose to throw a stained mattress or beat up tires. City commissioners, do you job and direct the city manager to direct the departments responsible to clean the city. This problem is not a recent one, as even when charlie was city manager, the problem existed and before. Please make our city more hospitable and welcoming by cleaning our streets/city.

It’s in response to a lawsuit the Department of Justice filed against SpaceX on Aug. 24 alleging the use of hiring practices that discriminate against refugees and asylum seekers.
The DOJ suit claims that “from at least September 2018 to May 2022, SpaceX routinely discouraged asylees and refugees from applying and refused to hire or consider them, because of their citizenship status, in violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).”
