FAMILY AND FRIENDS BID FAREWELL TO CLEMENTE HINOJOSA

Sunset Memorial Funeral Home and Crematorium

Clemente R. Hinojosa Jr, 73, of Brownsville, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend entered into eternal rest on October 17, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brownsville October 16, 1950, to Clemente Hinojosa Sr. and Rita Hinojosa.

He is preceded in death by his parents Clemente Hinojosa Sr. and Rita Hinojosa.

Clemente was a wonderful man who enjoyed spending his time with friends and family.

He served his country in the US Army in the 38th Engineer Company.

He worked in the criminal justice profession as an adult probation officer, security guard, and an immigration officer.

He then pursued a career in two of his favorite outdoor activities, hunting and fishing. He worked as guide and driver for several hunting and fishing lodges in old Mexico (El Tejón, Campo La Azteca, El Sargento, Pin Tail lodge, Rancho Mariposa, Hacienda Las Palmas, La Isla Lodge).

He even combined his love for vehicles and travel during this time while working on motorcycle tours in old Mexico. He was an avid Raiders fan who truly supported his team and enjoyed watching a variety of sports.

He also had a passion for travel and enjoyed visiting Casinos with his wife Josie and close friends. Lastly, on his down time he enjoyed watching his Western films.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Josie G Hinojosa; his four beautiful children, Steven Hinojosa, Kristen Hinojosa, Jaime Hinojosa, and Cristina Hinojosa; his eight grandchildren, Nathaniel Stucky, Sebastian Hinojosa, Sofia Hinojosa, Davin Robinson, Olivia Robinson, Amelia Hinojosa, Cara Hinojosa, Leo Hinojosa; and his two brothers, Arnoldo Hinojosa, and Martin Hinojosa.

May he RIP.

Just wondering what is meant by "Old Mexico?" I've never heard of Mexico referred to as old Mexico. Is it one and the same?
