ATTEND SOUTHMOST 23RD ANNUAL VETS PARADE SATURDAY!

The 23rd Annual Southmost Veterans Day Parade is set for November 4, 2023. This event honors the service of United States armed forces veterans. Chairperson Cristi Henson of the Southmost Veterans Day Parade Committee extends an invitation to the public. The City of Brownsville and the Parade Committee, representing community respect for veterans, sponsor the event.

The parade starts at 2 p.m. at Porter High School, continues down Southmost Boulevard, and ends at Cromack Elementary School on East 30th Street. The parade will feature over 74 participants, such as local schools, high school ROTCs, and veterans' groups. Floats with veterans and patriotic music will contribute to the celebratory atmosphere.

Nine honorees will be specially recognized during the parade. They will be transported in vehicles provided by local car dealers to acknowledge their significant contributions to national defense. The committee encourages community participation in this celebration.

The Southmost Veterans Day Parade provides a platform for the community to express gratitude to veterans. The committee suggests that public attendance will be a significant gesture of thanks to veterans and their families for their sacrifices.

In summary, the Southmost Veterans Day Parade is more than an event. It symbolizes community unity and respect for veterans. It offers an opportunity for the community to demonstrate their appreciation for those who have served and continue to serve the country.
