LAS PALMAS BAKERY, PREDATORY TOW TRUCKS UNDER FIRE

Special to El Rrun-Rrun

Post 1:
Unbelievable that Las Palmas Bakery would do this to our community. Their establishment was closed and we/they should welcome all the support for one of our neighboring BISD schools. I will NOT be giving them any of my business. It’s upsetting that these people were so happy to win this 4th round game and then get back to an empty parking lot where all cars were towed. Many people are saving money to buy their families Christmas gifts and here goes a hefty fee at the tow company to get their  car back.
Thanks to Patricia Younger for this update on a terrible business owner. Wow!

Post 2:
Las Palmas Bakery had all the cars parked in their parking lot towed away. That's sad. I'm boycotting that bakery and I hope you join me. I'm pretty sure they got their cut last night. All those people getting to their cars only to find out they're gone! Then to dish out an unexpected expense of $200-$300 bucks! SMH. I know how that feels. Please patronize any other bakery but NOT Las Palmas Bakery !!

Makes you wonder if it's really a laundromat in disguise. For money, that is.

Owners love their land, their properties, their homes, their ranches etc

Wiser thing was to talk to them first and ask for permission to park.

A good person will not park in a place where it is prohibited.

Also if they have a rule, they have to support their own rules.

The tow truck could have just kept driving and not "SEE" the cars parked at the bakery. But a good workers, does his job that is why he is being paid.

Difficult situation for all: owner of the bakery, tow truck driver, BISD (that offered FREE transportation and FREE parking for the game), and owners of the cars.

Instead of posting childish Facebook posts or trying to do be involved as a police “chief” and assistant city manager, Felix Sauceda should set his focus on performing his job.
Sauceda loves Facebook and “assigning” his patrol officers to take part in senseless Facebook opportunities like, “Going to the movies with kids”, “Have coffee with a cop”, “The Chief’s marathon”, “The Chief eating lunch”, and countless others.
If Sauceda was to ever become full time city manager, this city would fall even further into debt and ineptness.
Day after day for many months, Brownsville residents have been reporting their vehicles as stolen, with no end in sight. Why does Sauceda not do a Facebook post addressing how his detectives are working on stopping this ongoing problem? My sister’s truck was stolen 3 weeks ago, only to be told by a “agent” that her truck was in Matamoros, and there was nothing he could do…
Maybe Sauceda can ask other police departments to train his own detectives or ask for help, since Brownsville auto theft detectives appear hopeless.

I don't blame the owner for his /her action. I would have done the same. In south Texas People are just plain rude. If you know it’s private property ask for permission. I’m sure the owner would have let some cars park for a fee. But these are just free loaders. You can’t pay for parking with food stamps.

I stand with Las Palmas bakery.

The shuttles were a great idea. Traffic cleared relatively quickly and there were officers at all key intersections. Hats off to BISD PD and BPD. Except for the Las Palmas buzzkill, security, parking and traffic were handled very professionally. Sombrero could take a lesson or two especially with the shuttles. Go Chargers!!!!

Time to find a new bakery to buy my marranitos.🐖

Anonymous said...

Don't eat grapes either. Cesar Chavez boycotted them in 1970. Viva La Raza!

Anonymous said...

But You can buy sweet bread with food stamps

Or set up a bakery to launDer cash

What a bad image if the out of town supporters were towed away

Maybe if BISD didn't limit stadium parking to a select few

I have Been going to games 20 years

Have never been able to park at the stadium parking lot

What a shame

They had every right to tow every stinking vehicle parked on their property after hours. This region is so used to welfare, gimme gimme gimme, that it has become engrained in their life. This Rio Grande Delta’s population (not everyone but most) think it is the job of someone else to take care of them...called the DEMOCRAT SYNDROME, an incurable mental disorder. I hope everyone of these cockroaches don’t have a Christmas because of it!

Anonymous said...

Well…if they were open….shouldn’t people at least ASK before they park there?

There was marking at the ITEC….

I would of just shut down and charged like at charro days, where every home in the area starts renting out their parking.

to all the Karens out there defending the Bad actions of las Palmas Bakery & Rancho Towing ( My opinion who probably go 1/2 & 1/2), there should be proper signage & honest fees from tbe towing companies!
you can sugar coated all you want but las Palmas sick their dogs (wreckers), & now the Brownsvillians are pissed!!

7:42 said it best. It is a difficult situation to take sides on . But I believe the most sensible being that this type of business is a bakery/ panadería which is still in operation during these hours , so it’s doors were open for business. That being said, I believe it was wrong for fans to park in their parking lot. ( if it was your business, and your customers couldn’t find a parking space, wouldn’t you be upset ?). NOW, if the business was closed and the owner still called for cars to be towed, then they deserve to be chastised!!! Its all about being civilized and using good judgment, ON BOTH SIDES of the issue. Lets also keep in mind that FREE shuttle service was available for parking at the old ITEC building. So the opportunity/option ( for parking/shuttle) was available to the citizens wishing to attend the game. But unfortunately, nowadays , its seems like controversy and total lack of respect for other people’s property is the norm!!! “WHY CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG”. GO CHARGERS!!!

Talking about Brownsville PD unit #257 is a worthless fat body. Made a complaint to him while sitting in his cruiser about an idiot revving his car right across the street from him and he tells me it wasn't against the law. I proceed to tell him what about disturbing the piece and exhibition of speed he just sat there looking stupid. The I told him "Bro can't you hear that" and he got mad cause I called him "bro" what a lazy ass pussy! He sat there for another 20minutes never addressing the problem.I called to talk to his super Sgt. Colon left a message with dispatch he never called another chicken shit supervisor who can't
control his men. With all the money these fkers take from the city budget which is almost 60% of the entire city budget you think they could do there job.

Pues ahora A PAGAR $$$ papa!!!

The Logistics team needs to be proactive. Figure out the problem and the solution.

Brownsville had visitors, local residents and football fans....in need of water, food, and parking.

Touch base with the business close to the Stadium, far from the stadium and ask if cars can be parked there for a couple of hours during the game.
Say YES....put a football banner or flag.
Say NO....put a barrier to control traffic.

Walk the area with POLICE Academy staff and control the area.
Help the people....Brownsville people are good but they need help with parking in these events.

Let us hope when the Brownsville team goes to another city, the Brownsville fans are guided and helped by everybody.

7:52, Felix el chapo sauceda got rid of all his experienced investigators and replaced them with incompetent detectives including the stolen vehicle detectives, I wouldn’t call them agents, I dont know if you could even call them detectives. Ever since the move, felix pushed all his experience into retirement and most went to work for the DA’s office. Cant you see the busts that the DA’s office makes, that’s because all the experience went over there after felix pushed them out. Back to stolen vehicles, autotheft rate went to the roof when felix replaced experience with incompetence. Maybe that’s what he wanted, being that the main investigator there has ties to the mexican cartel and lives in matamoros. Maybe thats why the autotheft problem dont stop and maybe thats what felix and his buddy rojas wanted. Felix is the most corrupt Chief Brownsville has ever had. He dont deserve chief, assist city manager or city manager position, with all his past . The man is a narcissist, womanizer, back stabbing peace of shit. Hope Montoya writes an article of how crime rate, especially stolen cars, went up the roof when felix took over as chief. Oh, you better call him chief or he’ll have you moved to patrol. Especially if you went out with his 25 year old girlfriend before him, you will be moved to patrol for sure. Bottom line, felix and his autotheft detectives are worthless

I BLAME THE OWNER.

COCK ROACHES AND RATS INSIDE THE BAKERY. HEALTH DEPT CLOSED THEM DOWN. THATS IS WHY THEY MOVED TO WHERE THEY ARE NOW. THEY USED TO BE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BUILDING. I STOP GOING ALONG TIME AGO. FOR THIS HEALTH DEPT CLOSE.

8:38 don’t be hater and a scrooge. If you would actually read the school district memo you would find out that the employees are directed to make up the time to complete their 40 hr week. So there is NO “ free time off” being given to the employees. Also according to memo failure to make up time will result in non payment. As far as insurance, whats your point ?? As far as I know, every employee pays for their own insurance, so your point is totally irrelevant. This action taken by BISD to me is a friendly and adequate gesture of support from the district towards their students ( in this case the football players) for their accomplishments!! Its also a gesture to try and bring the community together to support these athletes ( that are representing our children, faculty and staff) to an event that happens not very often. KUDOS to superintendent Chavez and those that made this happen!!! This is an example of how you bring a school district together and create UNITY for a common/ultimate goal . Great way of showing pride and support for your students. It may just be a football game to some , but it also teaches the younger kids that anything can be accomplished with hard work and dedication. And the same is true for all aspects of their young lives. So 8:38 you may have your reasons to dislike/disagree with BISD ( like some of us may have had at one time or another) but I believe your missing the mark on this one. Have blessed day and “GO CHARGERS”

Nobody was buying pan at those fucking hours. YOU were being a fucking ASSHOLE. You knew the chaos that was coming, you wanted to fluff your feathers and now when the blow back is on(you fucking cry). Fuck you!! The school district is ending school early on Friday so people can go to the game. You see that’s looking ahead. You could have roped off and close down early. What you made such a profit selling pan Friday night. Selling $2 pan. Fuck you, you deserve the hate coming down on you. People wanted to just watch the game and go home,

There should be more hatred coming down on you, over $300 dollars in fee. I’m fucking raging 😡 already. I would rather piss on your property than ever purchase shit from you. Fucking cocksucker!

I went once to that bakery and it looks nice (very elegant) but the bread did not look good. I never returned.

Go to De Ayala's Bakery....the pan dulce is delicious. People all over Brownsville go to that hood in Southmost to buy marranitos, conchas, orejas, bolillos, cocoles, bigotes, campechanas, polvorones, canela

The ladies are also very polite and patient with so many customers.

To those people against the actions of Las Palmas Bakery let me know where you live so I may park my car in your driveway with out asking permission. I know you won't complain since your in favor of people parking where they please.

The business was opened, there is a sign that reads the parking lot is for their customers only. yall dont even shop there. it wasnt yalls cars. Eddie Guerra se la come, y la kenya nomas anda chupandole los bastones a los troopers, b.p.'s, and deputies.

There is plenty of warnings posted that parking on that property is prohibited. Nobody to blame but the inept and daring persons who gambled and lost.

Anonymous said...

Respect private property. Don’t trespass. Simple rules. Nothing hard. Getting your car towed off of private property after you trespassed is not only fair and predictable, but warranted. Let’s follow the rules and teach our children to do the same. For now, we are teaching our children that there are consequences to NOT following the rules.

Instead of placing so much emphasis on sports mainly football, school instructors and upper management should concentrate their efforts on teaching kids the basics such as math, reading and science. Kids today are graduating not knowing how to read or write. For the 2023-24 school year, there are 56 public schools serving 38,448 students in Brownsville ISD School District. This district's average testing ranking is 3/10, which is in the bottom 50% of public schools in Texas. Sports is just a smoke screen hiding the truth about the low educational level of our kids. As for football, hell none of these kids will ever play professional ball. So at the end of the day there will only be morons with past dreams of being Tom Brady.

Estas bien pendejo guy. They'll be back to work on Monday. They're not on break until the 22nd. If you don't like that they're probably getting better benefits than you then get a degree and apply.

As the person at @3:51 SAID, plenty of warnings posted that parking on that property is prohibited. Read people and abide by the laws. Very simple.

I stand with Las Palmas.

Hey 7:25 im an educated person that is retired and no im not a pendejo!! I am giving my opinion which im entitled to give ( just like you). But the huge difference between you and me is that i am a civilized and respectful person that doesn’t offend people for expressing their opinion/ thought’s. Note: I was born and raised in the BARRIO, so i also know how to cuss and dish it out but prefer not to , at this time. Have a blessed day. Go Chargers !!!

There's a FRIGGIN sign that says towing will be enforced? Pinches entitled assholes boycotting a place because they parked on private property where there is a Towing waring. IM BUYING MORE PAN THERE!!

Whoever wrote this piece and its titles can go sit on it!

12:26, the education does not show at all. Your earlier statement was not an opinion, but rather a "fact". A civilized person would not talk down on and speak ill of a public servant, which teachers are, that are not nearly paid what they should be. I have respect for individuals that have respect for me and my profession. I gave no opinions in my previous post sir. Have a great day. P.S. Don't forget to pay your "TAXAS", I need to get paid.

Otro pendejo, let me simplify it for you. They will work half day on Friday. They will report back to work on Monday. They then will leave for Christmas break on 12/22/23. I repeat, if you don't like your job and your benefits, get a degree and apply to be a teacher. Other than that, stay where you're at and don't complain. I respect all walks of life. Some people get benefits I'm jealous of too bud, suck it up.

I stand with La Palma! Bottom Line you don't park at a place of business especially if its OPEN!!! It's not Walmart you're parking at! It's a family business! There are signs saying you will be TOWED! You'd be pissed if it was YOUR business and people would be parking there. You would have done the same thing La Palma did. Based on your actions you seem to NOT follow rules or laws. You are wrong sweetie. Taking shuttles is the norm in big cities because if you dare park in a NO PARKING zone you're going to be towed. Pero esta raza aqui en Brownsville quiere estacionarse donde le pegue la gana. NO CAN DO!
