With all the heavy fines for routine traffic stops, Judge Neece was a gallant advocates for relief from sometimes ridiculous vehicular violations like burnt out taillights.
Please name a park or some downtown improvement in his memory.
Maybe a City of Brownsville could build an information center with free WiFi, coffee and cookies.
Maybe the grant writer who made the bike trails a reality might have a grant to house a location with showers etc.
Bus station area is nice and could be a international welcome center too.
Maybe the homeless community will benefit from Ben's efforts.
He had been trying to solve the riddle of what to do with them.
So many that they're hard to keep track of.
The Ozanam Center was his pet project too.

Pendejo! Learn some Brownsville History. Elizabeth, was the wife of city of Brownsville founder Charles Stillman. First three city streets are named after Stillman's immediate family, then starts Washington street after Presidents, which is patriotic for a town. Or at least Brownsville used to be.
Not a fan of Stillman, but I know Brownsville, and Texas History. Get a membership at the Brownsville Historical Association, and learn something about your town.

Brownsville will miss Ben. However, to rearrange the street names in his honor is not becoming. I am not judging but we all know he was a pot head.
Maybe put up a plaque in his honor at the homeless shelter...🤔but that is it.
