I'd rather go to the International Coffee Shop, but the owner closes on the 7th day to attend church services. The food and the environment there is so much better and family style and her cabrito is delicious on Monday plus her milanesas are superb.

Downtown restaurants need to stay open late. At least till dinner time. People get out of work and want to eat some good Mexican food or Tex-Mex not fast food. They all close by 2 or 3PM. I miss the days when Lucio's Cafe on Washinton St. was open 24 hours.
We also need a good restaurant with decent prices to stay open late for the night life in downtown. REAL FOOD! Not talking about those overpriced all show hipster food joints.
The bike and hike trail witch goes there to fill her tires and maybe get a free glass of water for using her bike to cross the street. Who wants to go there because the city of Brownsville will give you a free parking violation for visiting downtown ghetto Brownsville.
Ricardos is a solid, but pricey, breakfast spot. Definitely a gem downtown with a lovely staff. Im sure La Jackies baby daddy at PD enjoys it.
There are many lousy restaurants in this dirty town. Why so much fanfare over this one? Is someone trying to get a free meal?

Yo siempre voy a Ricardo’s a comerme un rico plato de menudo y a hecharme un taco de ojo!
We chose Ricardo's off the expressway after we buried our dear cousin. my niece's plate had a live roach crawling on top of the food. my niece jumped! It wasn't a huge one, so none of us saw anything. waitress didn't even get to set it on the table for her. didn't even apologize for it. asked her if she wanted a different dish. my niece said no thank you. We will never go to another one of his restaurants. The guy is too hyper. Instead of opening several he should be smart and just have one and pay attention to it and tend to it. Lost our business.
