TRAFFIC REDUCED TO TWO LANES ON OPI STARTING JAN. 8

City of Brownsville

Starting the week of January 8, 2024, a section of Old Port Isabel Road, stretching from Price Road to Coffee Road, will be reduced to one lane both ways.

The lane reductions are due to roadwork being conducted by the City of Brownsville's Engineering and Public Works Department, involving a mill and overlay process on the roadway.

Because this construction is estimated to last about a month, it's advisable for those affected to plan for potential delays in their commute.

Leaving a few minutes earlier than usual might be necessary to accommodate for the change in traffic patterns and to ensure timely arrival at your destinations during this period.

Why not reroute some of the traffic temporarily via the bike trails?

The summer is better for these projects.

Traffic is rough because of the school buses, parents driving late to work etc

Lazy summers are better.

A month? More like a year.

This part of OPI has been badly repaired and had overlay work done before and it's still in bad shape. Drivers need to drive on the bike and hike trails because those roads get millions of dollars for a few or nobody to used. What a waste of millions of pork money wasted on the bike and hike trails from a crazy idiot stupid jackass fake lazy two-face weirdo no good for nothing commissioner at large. Now this commissioner is getting paid too from the taxpayers. Brownsville is a piece of shit of the valley, let's keep it number one.

The food stamp distribution center is not that way so not to worry.

The only reason this street is being done ASAP is because Commissioner Dst. 2 Linda Macias and her husband use this street to get to and from their house. Not because they care about the public, they care about themselves.

Los estupidos installed traffic lights at ALL bike trails that cross a city street. Another billion spend on that stupid idea. Several million on murals, another couple of millions on repainting streets with that white paint that seperates bikes and cars.
THEY ALL NEED TO BE VOTED OUT

They need to finish what they started (FM 802 & Habana Street by H.E.B). They have been working on and off that middle part of the road for months. It looks like they were about to finish it then they disappeared. The left lane is still closed. What a cluster….

I’m sure the commissioner and her husband use many streets, as we all do, such a petty comment….glad she got it done!

patching city streets should be done by all city elected officials das why they get 350k a year to patch city streets.
