(Ed.'s Note: Campaign workers for Jose Luis "Skippy" Davila Guerra, who is running for Cameron County Tax Assessor-Collector, hand out literature and pushcards across the Rio Grande in Matamoros. Davila, 47, who has claimed over-65 exemption on his Brownsville home for the last nine years, owes four county taxing entities some $22,000 in the fraudulent claim and – until he announced – listed a Matamoros residence. It has now been erased from his social pages.
It is unclear whether a candidate in an American election can openly campaign for that office in Mexico, but then again, this candidate has not adhered to the "U.S. "normal" of paying your fair share of taxes or of not campaigning in a foreign country for a U.S. office.

Really, if you think about it. Matamoros and Brownsville are sister cities. Accentuate the positive. It's a real blessing.

What choices do the voters of Cameron County have, especially the candidates coming from the Brownsville area which aee clueless, bonehead, idiots from this border town. Look at the other candidates on the ballot? It's all about the money been paid to the winner of this race. I am leaving this choice blank on the ballot. I will vote republican in March.

Exactly. Most people waiting to cross are American Citizens and they will vote in the election. They get to talk to the candidate or hear from the candidate. Smart move....Skippy.
