Lots of people voted for Rosas because the Reyna clan was behind him. Many will take the less of two evils. They wanted Rosas to be their puppet. Manny will not be their puppet. Manny will do as the commissioners order him to do and he will let all workers down. Needless to say Erik will luck out and stay for the good of the county workers. Laugh all you want. Just because you yell doesn't make you right. WE all have choices and I wouldn't disrespect or laugh at yours. Sometimes we pick who we think is doing the correct thing and sometimes it ends up being wrong choice, because some politicians run for office with hidden agendas. It's happened to me before, but at least I had a choice. Believe me, if the person I voted for turns out to be a disappointment, they or family members will never get my support; I will not support any businesses they may have, as well. Peace !

Rosas is “all hat and no cattle.” Anyone that has worked with him knows how worthless he is. Amazing how he tried to portray himself as a “family man” during his campaign. What a joke! If it wasn’t for his wife writing everything he said during his campaign he wouldn’t know what to say. He hasn’t been worth a damn during his entire career. Not one case where he contributed other than putting up the crime scene tape and picking up pizzas for the real investigators. People get reassigned all the time. The Captain reassigned him back to patrol. Rosas has already threatened to sue (using someone else’s money), good luck with that. ¡Todos tienen cola que le pisen! All of the candidates have questionable ties & have made promises to some unsavory characters. Manny isn’t some savior sent from above to save the sheriff’s office. This is Conrado Cantu and Lupe Treviño all over again. The sheriff’s office can’t heal from a black eye without getting another.

This comment is hilarious!! Eric is the Current Sheriff and he has zerooo experience as a Sheriff OR law enforcement period. He has not done anything worthy of his title as Sheriff. ANYONE with boots on the ground law enforcement experience has more experience than Eric.

The Lucio administration had the best relationship with the commissioners and how did that work out? You think if Manny wins and has a good relationship the commissioners and judge is going to magically give the Deputies a raise? I find it amusing how you have all these disgruntled individuals who claim the sheriffs office is this and that, but if taken a general census the deputies and most of the office is happy with the direction the sheriffs office is headed to. Fighting for raises is not only through the sheriffs office. It’s all of county LE standing up together. That is a separate issue in county that needs to be addressed. I do believe manny will have a good relationship with the commissioners. I think he knows that’s the only way to move forward. As far as young deputies moving to other departments and changes being made within the office, well that’s necessary to have the office run smoothly. Right now, we are scattered with no structure. Deputies will always complain, this is not only in SO but in all LE offices. If they need to leave to be better than so be it. I believe we need to stop looking at this as individuals and start looking at it is a whole. When I started at SO, we took pride in this badge. I took pride that County was on scene! People respected us. No we have young deputies playing cops, and doing whatever they feel like. It’s time to get back to work man. Enough is enough

@7:26 am if majority of the deputies are happy with the direction of the Sheriff's Office why is the turn over rate so bad? No other agency has so many officers quit. The sheriff's office is literally the lowest paying agency with the highest call volume. Who in their right mind wants to work more for less pay? Listen to the radio during the the night shift and see how many times dispatch will ask for assistance from the small cities. Yes primera has some pretty novice officers but they will be more than happy to roll by for you in las Palmas las jaurez when you have no one else.
