It was a good interview. There was some mention regarding jobs. However nothing was discussed regarding the number of locals working at these new companies in town such as Space X and the LNG plant. Are these plants hiring outsiders or valley people? Inquiring minds would like to know!
Gracias a la Commisiobada Benavides por las multitudes de protectos que nos a beneficial en nuestra area. Bendiciones. Vamos a continually a Valverde a voter por la Commissionada Sofia Benavides. Voten hoy .
WTF buddy, does she one eye open one eye closed? Shit Biden was here yesterday and the fucking moron looked lost as shit. You can try and give me shit sandwich but just because you put frosting, does not make it a CAKE!!!
Benavides just doesn't seem to get her dates of working in the office correct, she mentions that she started in 2006 working in Cameron County courts, that would add up to 18 years more or less but then she says 16 and 17 years. Benavides graduated in 1969 and she didn't know that many of the students in Cameron County would leave after school was out in May to go up North to work so that they could pay for their food and expenses. Benavides is around the same age as many Cameron County legal citizens who were denied school lunches, food stamps, specialty scholarships because they were late for the September year start. Many of US were indeed late, past the Sept. deadline, our payment for being late was that we were placed in the School Cafeteria for months until the December break to be allowed in classrooms. These were the plan 3 students' placement. Many of these plan 3 students were not all Mexicans from Mexico, many were legal Cameron County Citizens with Ancestral rights, many of these students were DRAFTED in 1969 by the U. S. military and many died. Many of them forgotten by Cameron County so-called political leaders. My Father, in particular was an Air Force Veteran, who served eight years, was denied every V.A. benefit available. My question to you Benavides is "WHERE WERE YOU? "We are Ancestral Heirs to Miguel Salinas, where Fort Brown sits on. Salinas's land plantation was trespassed by the United States in 1864 by Zachary Taylor and up to date is owed a WAR CLAIM that is due. Your interview seems to hit a nerve with many victims. This is my opinion.
I read and follow The Run Run blog and sometimes comment on some articles/stories. I want to thank Montoya for having this blog and for allowing the public a way to give their opinion and sometimes even vent their frustrations on certain issues. That being said, I would like to know why only “ certain “ candidates get these interviews. The last one i saw was the one with “ the Vince Lombardi “(LOL) of the RGV Tino Villareal. Unfortunately I happen to disagree with most of what this lady stands for. She may have meant well when she began her”career “ as a commissioner but I believe her so called “work” for the community has become stagnant/nonexistent and is now in it, only for herself. She needs to step aside, retire and allow someone else be voted in ( and hopefully none of her family members or friends)!! Some of these so called “political dinosaurs “ need to realize that their time has passed and that its time for a new younger breed of candidates. ( No disrespect to the older crowd). Sucking on that political TIT for too long doesn’t bode well with the public anymore . One suggestion Montoya: would you consider holding these interviews with a candidate and their opponents (like a mini forum) and then ask them ALL the difficult/hard questions on the issues that really matter to the people??? We the public want to see their reactions and hear their positions on these TOUGH questions. Just food for thought Montoya.
On another subject, just finished reading news article on TPWD land swap with Space X. It says that the county gives it “full support “ for the swap. Furthermore, County judge Eddie” short stuff”Trevino says that the deal is “ necessary for the long-term health and vitality of Cameron County” . These “ words and accolades “ remind me of the time when they wanted to build that bridge at the port ( THE BRIDGE TO NOWHERE) , and that ended up a PR disaster and costing , I believe $25 million dollars—- for nothing —NADA!!! My friend says : Lets hope history doesn’t repeat itself and let it serve as a reminder of what happens when you allow a group of self serving individuals to make decisions without thinking of the consequences/ damage being done to the environment and its people. Ni modo , chingaron los ricos otra vez !! Mas triste .
Mr. Blogger I appreciate all that you do. However, we are not and will never be the launching pad to space. We are more like the side vieja that rich men have.
ALL SHE WANTS IS EL CHEQUE NOTHING ELSE Y EL POBRE SOUTHMOST FULL OF POTHOLES, FLOODING, NO JOBS, CITY AND COUNTY FILING LAWSUITS TO TAKE AWAY THEIR HOMES AND HERE SHE IS ASKING FOR MORE CHECKS FOR HER AND HER FAMILIA AND HER VOTING FRIENDS THAT HAVE JOBS WITH THE CITY AND THE COUNTY. QUE MAMONA ES...
I think Montoya gets paid by these people to expose them to us his readers. There is nothing wrong with him getting paid. His business needs to make money.
I don't like Carlos Martinez. He is a bityer whiney little bitch but if he paid Toya more power to Toya.
Ms Benavides needs to go, unfortunately she's an Eddie Trevino puppet. She's a nice lady but not a leader. She can't think by herself. High paying jobs at Space X are out of towners not locals. We're a testing site not going to be the launch pad, be transparent and realistic. So tired of locals being taken advantage by long standing politicians. It's time for change make sure to go vote and Make your vote count.
NO MORE SOFIA TIME FOR CHANGE. NO MORE EDDIE TREVIÑO'S PUPPETS. LA GRITONA SYLVIA GARZA ALONG WITH YZAGUIRRE NEED TO GO. GO AHEAD JUDGE TRY RUNNING SHAUN'S CONGRESSMAN GONZALEZ 🤣 YOU DOING STAND A CHANCE! WHAT A JOKE, BUT THANKS FOR THE LAUGH 😂🤣😂

Not much to say just photos from admiring my Mexican wife. She might not be for everyone, but I am happy.
Gracias por el apoyo, Juan.
