BREAKING: MAN SHOT TO DEATH INSIDE BROWNSVILLE MAIN LIBRARY: SUSPECT OFFERS NO RESISTANCE, ARRESTED BY BPD

(BPD officers arrest suspected killer who shot another man inside the Main library.)

By Juan Montoya
Exclusive to El Rrun-Rrun

A man was shot to death in the Brownsville Main Library at 2600 Central Blvd. Boulevard around noon today and his alleged killer was taken into custody after eyewitnesses said the two had been involved in a discussion that turned violent and resulted in the suspect pulling out a handgun and shooting the other in the head from across the table.

The man, estimated to stand about six feet tall,  then calmly remained seated in the Reader's Mark Cafe table as library staff started rushing patrons our the rear exists before police arrived. Police covered the rear and front entrances to the parking lot and did not allow anyone to leave or enter through the main doors as they surround the building and entered the library fully armed with AR-15s and body armor.

The single shot from the suspect's gun thundered through the building just past noon. Patrons at first thought something heavy like a file cabinet might have dropped on the floor but started looking for an exit when they saw people being rushed to the rear emergency doors by library staff. Then the trickle of people turned in to a torrent as they rushed out the rear exit door. Library staff urged patrons not to panic as they rushed them out the door.

(Armed with AR-15 rifles and body armor, BPD officers surrounded library)

Less than 10 minutes after their arrival, officers of the Brownsville Police Department were seen escorting a tall man wearing a sports jacket and a a hoodie into a police unit and taking him away as EMS crews stood around prepared to attend to any wounded. No one emerged after half an hour to request their services and they remained at the scene assisting shocked patrons who hyperventilated from the trauma.
(Panic-stricken parents and terrified children race outside the library and gather at a nearby bus shelter on Central Blvd.)

According to a man who was in the coffee shop inside the library, he heard the two men sitting at a  table arguing loudly and at some point the victim leaned back on his chair and told the alleged shooter that "I'm not worried about it. I work for the federal government," at which point the alleged shooter calmly reached under the table for his weapon and pulled out the gun and shot him point blank in the head.

"He then just sat on his chair and didn't do anything," the man said. "He is somewhere between 25 to 35 years old, I estimate," he said. "I had my son with me and and I brought him out. But he wasn't moving. He was just sitting at the table and the other guy was dead or dying on the floor."

Meanwhile, as the killer sat at the table, patrons rushed out the rear as parents hugged children who were shaking with fear and and trundled them to safety and gathered in a bus shelter on Central Blvd. A woman in the bunch said she was in the private room when the sound of the bullet being fired rang out a scant 25 or 30 feet from her.

"I've never been so scared," she said, her voice breaking as she tried to control her shaking. "My God, this is a public library. I hope he didn't shoot anyone else."

(Officers and various law enforcement agencies including the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Cameron County Sheriff's Department, and Pct. 2 Constables  rushed to assist the BPD who arrived first and arrested the suspect at the scene.)

Add three decomposing bodies to the mix. What's going on Browntown? Reminds me of the 80's when Garcia-Abrego was at large. I wonder if that was a good guy or bad guy with a gun? One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. Peace

"Chief" Chapo Sauceda stated, "Nothing to see here folks! It was just a small fight. I'll have my detectives downgrade this murder to a disturbance to keep the official numbers looking good. This is what I always have done, manipulated the actual numbers to keep Brownsville one of the safest in the world!!"

No real security in the library. This tragedy could have been prevented with real leadership and common sense by having armed guards posted with metal detectors.

Thank God no children were injured.
City commission have a special meeting NOW!

Difficult situation.
The two men talked about the issue.
One told his truth.
The other took a risk.

Now one man has to face the consequences.

Other men, plan their revenge and serve it cold.

Other men put all the information in social media.

Other men, kill.

All men are different.

There we go again!!!!! I'll tell what's happening here, chapo sauceda has created this mess. Starting with the cop killing thugs that were roaming around brownsville in a stolen truck and with assault rifles like it's cartel land. then the stolen vehicle problem, oh what a mess has sauceda created. and just this week a cop got shot in the chest and is lucky to be alive. only because he was wearing a bulletproof vest. oh, i forgot the 3 bodies found at that apartment complex, how is that natural causes? everyone dies at the same time, I think it's a little suspicious. Now this at the library, where it's supposed to be safe for everyone. Chapo Sauceda has created all this mess, by reducing the amount of cops on the streets. Chapo Sauceda now reduced the amount of patrolman to about 6 or 8, when it used to be over 20 cops out in the streets years ago. I don't know if this is the plan of his girlfriend city manager or just himself but he has created a mess. then he hides it by reclassifying the offenses, so he could make it appear that brownsville is safe under his watch. It's weird how his media people are out reporting on minor traffic accidents, but when it comes to major crimes, they don't report nothing. could it be chapo sauceda doesn't want the taxpayers to know how his turning brownsville into a shithole. I call on the Mayor, his girlfriend city manager and commissioners to fire this good for nothing chief. Not only is he turning brownsville into a dangerous city, but he is playing roulette with the lives of his officers. Make Brownsville safe again and fire that no good chief. Worst Chief ever!!!

There was a comment on marty and terrorist

Was that a jab at the person(s) involved

The police can now intervene. Before, the police could not do much for these two men. Now, that there is a crime and a person is killed...now the police can help.

GO figure this out.

Brownsville needs another type of police, one that helps before a crime takes place. Is there such thing? Conflict resolution police? Ombudsman police? Communoity police?

Anonymous said...

With what was reported about what was said, the shooter will be described as a right wing extremist and the solution will be more communism

You mean the 2nd sentence, right?

Did you know you can watch porno at the public library on the free internet as you freedom of speech

Not making it up

This is a wake up call.

Hire more security guards.

Anonymous said...

If the shooter is a republican, it's Trump's fault.

Anonymous said...

Damn. I used to work there for 5 year's.

Where was security? Where were the supervisors? Why didn't no one step in beforehand when they were arguing loudly?

They definitely need to add additional security after this. They normally have only 1. Be it an old gentleman or an older lady.

Quite sad to hear.

For sure 2 gay Mexicans.

But remember, Brownsville is the safest city in the USA. We know that is a bunch of bullshit.

Things were better in the 80s with Garcia Abrego. Matamoros was safe to go out at night.
I miss El Jefe. Cognac!

We know the shooter is 6feet tall. That rules out a mexican.
He must be black. Because he forgot to run after the shooting.

Anonymous said...

Was this shooting over an over due book? Where was the head librarian, drinking coffee too or asleep in some back room watching DVDs?

Anonymous said...

Where is all the money from property taxes going? What are we the citizens of this city getting in return? It's definitely not more police officers. Brownsville was once a nice city to live in. But now that’s just a memory thanks to the corrupt democratic politicians. Are we going to become another Emeryville, Calif., Sauk Village, Ill., Glendale, Co., or Florida City, Fl.? Wake up people you’ve been asleep too long!

Anonymous said...

Damn

bus shelters coming in handy

Didn't know they were bullet proof

Where was the armed guard with brownsville police patches on the light blue shirt?

My neighbor says : chief Sauceda is a God in the eyes of the city commission/ manager. WAKE UP!! This guy can no longer be protected and held unaccountable. We all know he is a puppet for you all but the buck stops with him!! Based on all the reports and rumors, BPD is in disarray and the behavior of many officers is despicable( not everyone). Saucedas tenure has been just as bad as Eric Garza’s at the sheriffs department ( with the exception that Sauceda does have many years of law enforcement experience—— so does that make it worse??) And its bad enough that Sauceda has dropped the ball at BPD , the city( city manager) reward him with an assistant city manager position $$$$. THE CHARLIE CABLER SYNDROME. Its bad enough he sucked as the top cop in town, and now he’s part time politician attending city luncheons and other city matters , when he should be concentrating on POLICE MATTERS 100% of the time and keeping our city safe!!! Hey Cowen, how many more car thefts and other crimes are you going to allow to continue(And now you can add a body count to that list.) before you make a drastic decision?!?!?? Its been a bad week for Brownsville. How much worse is the city commission going to allow this to get???

Metal detectors is something all that grant money that is given to the rich, examples Futia and Las Rambalas, that can be done for the people of Brownsville.

Anonymous said...

The past incidents are quickly swept under the rug and forgotten. Don’t forget murder is up 100% and car thefts about 70%. Lets face it Felix Sauceda is no good for this city. He doesn’t know how to run a police department, much less make brownnsville safe for its residents. But what do you expect from a guy that only knows how to write tickets. Ask him to issue a ticket and he’ll write up in less than a minute, but don’t ask him how a police department operates cause he has no idea. Why do you think he keeps askjng texas rangers to help? Seems that felix sauceda is left with a whole bunch of inexperienced police officers and detectives but that’s his own doing because he pushed out all the experienced officers.
Oh and I guess felix sauceda is sending a message out that you can just shot cops and get away with it. Why hasn’t that cop killer been charged. Does that mean that cops can no longer respond to calls for service because the homeowner is justified in killing them. You don’t just shot at someone without knowing what you’re shooting at. Mr felix is making ok to shoot his cops.
Message to his girlfriend city manager, fire that no good pussy before things get worse. If he was ever good for anything, maybe it was at having movidas, especially those with criminal history like the one that had a monopoly of gambling casinos under the protection of her sancho felix. Worst chief ever!!!!!

The victim was 71 years old. The aggressor was 33 years old.

That the 71 year old guy told the 33 year old guy to lower his voice.

Do we believe this?

The library is always quiet (people with headphones, people reading etc) The cafe is close to the children's area so that area is always hectic.

Most older people do not hear that well.

Somebody is lying to us or maybe not.

Chief Sauceda and the horse he road in on suck. The dude can't do his job as Chief of Police and they make him Assistant City Manager. This is Double Dipping a Comission approved Money Grab. Brownsville Tax payers are being,as known in court, victimized aka fucked, in the vernacular.
