As a longtime member, born and raised in Brownsville, of this community, I applaud Eddie Trevino for this gesture. The flying of the flag at half-mast is to honor someone who made a difference, a big one, within our community. Carlos did that and much more and he became a republican in order to be the candidate for the position that had already been almost given to a democrat. He was the first one from a different party to ever get elected as county judge, including our illustrious, Oscar C. Dancy. Carlos did not dangle party names in his actions. He worked for the people and that is why all the people have something good to say about him. El era hombre de mucho respeto, siempre.
May his wife and daughters stand proud as they try to cope with such a great loss. He was also a great husband and father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, primo, tio, and just a plain ole good guy. I was lucky to be part of his distant familia.

You want to focus on Biden, so that people do not pinpoint the evil of Trump. Smart move from Repubicans. Trump is in good condition because he just plays golf and does bad things to ladies.
You need to read the flag code. It's there, only the president or the local governor (TEXAS)can have the flag lower to half mast. Since Carlos butted heads with Abbott, I don't think he'll order it done. Having said that, Carlos was a fair and decent man. He cared about people across the aisle. I had the privilege of working with Carlos when I was the Director of the Cameron county Veterans Office. He was very appreciative of the Vietnam veterans and all who served. If Mr. Trevino wants to do this in his honor,let it be done.
