Great job, ladies. It's great to see a Valley team win a State Championship.
Soccer and now softball. That was an exciting finish too. Competition is
no joke at the final games. The athletic programs upstate dedicate copious financial resources to insure positive outcomes annually. This is an experience that the players and community will treasure the rest of their lives. Yeah !!!!!

Some of these girls have trained and continue to train in Brownsville, so there is a Brownsville component to this deal and to the South team. First Women's state title for a women's team from the RGV and they did by beating the both #1 Ranked teams in Texas along the way, one of which was ranked # 1 in the Nation (Katy HS). All the teams they beat had multiple girls signed or committed to major power house D1 teams.
This is truly a david slays Goliath story.

This is a great story written from a STX standpoint. This was a huge win for the entire RGV.
