LATE ASST. CITY MANAGER LIZ WALKER REMEMBERED IN CEREMONY

Special to El Rrun-Rrun

On Thursday morning, the City of Brownsville paid tribute to the late Elizabeth Walker at the  Main Library Branch on Central Boulevard. The library displayed a family-style portrait of  Walker and her young son, Elijah, on book ends, in memory of her inspiring life.

On hand to view the ceremony were her son and husband.

Walker, who bravely battled cancer, served as Assistant City Manager from 2019 to 2024.

On hand to remember her with deep gratitude for her service, dedication and commitment to the Brownsville community was mayor John Cowen and other city dignitaries.
