HUDSON ELEMENTARY NEIGHBORS: WELCOME TO OUR NIGHTMARE

(Ed.'s Note: Here we go again with the daily traffic jam produced when parents take their kids to Hudson Elementary School every morning and pick them up after classes now that school has started at the Brownsville Independent School District.

Previous pleas by the neighbors to the BISD administration and the school board have gone unanswered. The residents say that in case of an emergency during opening and closing hours, it would be impossible for emergency vehicles to enter because of the congestion. Will this be the year the BISD finally comes up with a solution?)

They have enough space to go and drop the kids and exit. The problem is that parents need to learn to get up early and drop the kids early and exit quickly. They can also park in the parking lot and walk with the kids to the main building. The school staff is there very early to help parents. Thank you to all the grandparents that are driving the children to school. There are a lot of zancudos so you need spray or a towel to kill the zancudos and protect the kids.

They have a dam school at every corner kinda like stripes. Have the lazy ass kids walk to school. Just as long as they're escorted by some overpaid fat ass school employee.

Unfortunately, y’all can’t deny the aggravation and frustration you feel to get caught in the middle of this chaos. It’s happened to me and I didn’t even have a kid to drop off. Just happened to take a wrong turn and ended in the middle of that mess. Problem is , when this school was planned, not much thought went into the fact that the neighborhood would grow and the surrounding area would grow around the school to the point of encasing the school. And that is the case for other school campuses around town. Poor planning by the school executives plus the growth of our once” sleepy town “ have unfortunately created these headaches. So i guess it falls into the category of “ growing pains”?? But i do believe there has to be some type of solution to this. Personally, i feel sorry for the folks that have to do this every day in order to drop off and pickup their children at these schools. And i do my best to avoid these areas as best i can .

It is a good idea, to go one week before starts to see how the surrounding area looks like... in the Meet the Parents meeting, this is also probably discussed...take into account, that some parents hug and kiss the kids, and kids drop their backpack and some parents want to chat etc so you really have to wake up early the first two weeks until the drivers understand the new routine.

Officials should fine everybody and their grandparents. Some parents think they are the only ones in the pick up area.
