And scouring the worldwide web, we came upon the coverage by award-winning reporter Emma Perez-Treviño for the Brownsville Herald and the Valley Morning Star who won her journalistic accolades when she covered the judicial corruption trial of disgraced 404th District Judge Abel Limas.
Limas had some interesting comments, mentioning former Cameron County Sheriff Candidate Jimmy Manrrique, then a Democrat, but now a Republican and again candidate for the position. He faces Democrat Manuel "Manny" Treviño this November 5 in the General Election.
Limas testified as part of this plea agreement that lawyer Marc Rosenthal, sentenced to 20 in prison in 2013 for bribery, wanted him to pay City Manager Charlie Cabler and Civil service officer Carlos Ayala $10,000 each to ensure then-police officer Manrrique passed an exam for lieutenant, thinking that would smooth his ascent into the job of Chief of Police.
"Jimmy showed up and told me what he wanted also," Limas testified. He told prosecutors that he did not know if Manrrique knew about the $10,000. Manrrique told the Morning Star that he did not know anything about the money and contradicted Limas' sworn statements made under oath under threat of perjury that he went to Limas' office. He declined further comment.

When the federal government shut down IES and filed conspiracy and theft charges against Ruben Gallegos Sr. and Ruben Gallegos Jr., he was out of his head of security gig with IES. What did he know about the misapplied $17 million siphoned off by the defendants, and more importantly, if he didn't know, why didn't he?

Juano put the transcripts here so people know what type of person is Manrique. How are you head of security for that company and not know what's going on. Is Manrique even a licensed peace officer?

The city and the county just finished signing with BISD a multimillion dollar contract that they (BISD) will provide to the city and county a total of 20 PENDEJOS in the next 10 years.
The old contract provided only 10 PENDEJOS. The county and the city can rest assure that everybody involved will be in GOOD HANDS. (sic)
