MACIAS' D-2 INTRODUCES TRAFFIC BOX DESIGN WINNER CARDENAS

By Linda Macias
District 2 City Commissioner

Check out the amazing wraps on the traffic boxes around the city.

Each one can be found within each district, adding a splash of creativity and color to our streets. This one is located at Padre Island and Coffeeport.

A huge thank you to the Brownsville Beautification Committee for spearheading the project.

That’s awesome! Glad they’re sprucing up the town! Keep up the good work Macias!

Wow Macias you are a genius . Wink Wink. Your ideas will take you far. You’re ready to run for Texas governor LOL. First , all those storied BCIC giveaways to the rich ( as per reports) and now these graffiti laden boxes!! Your quality of life projects are groundbreaking!! 🤣 This will become a mini mural bullshit idea.

Yea, Harlingen did this years ago. Nothing original about browntown.

So what if “Harlingen did it years ago” & so did every other city. This is Brownsville people can never advance, haters, so damn negative. *rolls eyes* BE PROUD! TAKE PRIDE that we too are trying to be a better place! Jackass.

You wish you were half the woman she is!

Beautiful! I myself would like to get in touch with the artist, does anybody know how?

Thank you Commissioner Macias and City Council AND ESPECIALLY the artists!

If you could read, you would realize all she did was unveil it, no harm done. I know the Brownsville beautification was behind this project even though it took them 6 years to get the ball rolling. Not sure how this was correlated to Quality of life, which is a “lazy” argument. Sorry your brain takes you to ridiculous conclusions you created in your own brain, that could be a sickness you have! All I know is the box looks 100x better than it originally did! Great Job Linda and Brownsville Beautification Committee!! Keep up the good work!!

Raton?? How?? Prove it??? Your opinion is your emotion being expressed and anything but factual. However, the truth is the ones who cry “ratas” are usually the “ratas”. I’ll let you think about that for a minute.

And the street potholes, the trash and garbage in all the alleys, the flooding that occurs with every downpour, the unfinished bus shelters etc etc.??? With all these issues haunting Brownsville for so many years and the frustration just mounting yr in yr out , I don’t think the complaints can be classified as “ lazy arguments “ . They ( city commission) taunt creating “quality of life” projects for the benefit of our town and these are the DISTRACTION PROJECTS they come up with. They may be pretty but they don’t constitute as priority projects. And sorry but our comments are not ridiculous conclusions, but yrs and yrs of seeing our taxpayer money’s being mispent on ridiculous pet projects. Have a blessed day

Maybe the Beautification and the Parks Department should be in charge of fixing the big issues of Brownsville: good jobs, good streets, good homes. They know the City, its alleys, the streets, the people, the neighborhoods.

We elected you commissioners to create meaningful progress and growth for our town not to dedicate yourselves to high school art projects. They are called PRIORITIES!!! Just wait and see, those colorful boxes will soon be overrun by tall grass and weeds just like some of the hike/bike trails and other beautification projects

Macias is the new Jessica Tetreu all boobs no brains

No this was a project completed by the Brownsville Beautification committee. They have their own budget, agenda, and board. The commission has nothing to do with this, I believe the respected commissioner was only giving credit to the artist by unveiling it to the public via social media.

WHO'S IDEA WAS THIS, THE SAME BRUJA THAT STARTED THAT SHIT WITH THE BIKE TRAILS WHICH BY THE GUEY ARE NEVER USED????

Ask Milwhite if Macias is the new Jessica, she just got the state to run them out of town for their pollution. She it got it done by her 2nd year! This has been a nearly 20 year issue! Jessica T knew of this topic and just went on another shopping spree! You should compare intelligence to intelligence not intelligence to silicone!
