NO MORE PALANCA: EARLY ORIGINS OF CORRUPTION UNEARTHED

By Tad Hasse

Political science has often pondered the question of the origins of political corruption in South Texas.

The causes have been well known and established, but the question of when it started has puzzled and perplexed observers, both professional and casual for many years. Some propound that it is a recent development done by miracle and sprung up all at once, having been thought up at a local nightclub that has since gone under.

Under this so-called  “Genesis “ theory, a group of shady characters got together and on a whim, decided to see how much they could steal and get away with. To justify and promote this point of view, familial patterns and trends are brought forth as a matter of proof that these are indeed God’s Chosen and by this right, they steal.

They maintain that corruption is a recent event, caused by the election of the people who  were not in their circle just one election cycle ago.

The more scientific approach assumes that the modern system evolved from a more primitive system where advantages and strategies that proved effective in stealing from others were passed down through the generations, resulting in our modern and refined system of graft and corruption.

The "Evolutionists" have always maintained that one must look at the evidence without preconceived family bias in order to properly understand and explain the system as it now exists. They point out the parallels seen in biology where chimps pass on the skill of using twigs to feast on termites onto other chimps.

Many of the proponents of the Genesis theory try to lend scientific credence to their belief system by claiming that the Hand of God is evident in the current system. They maintain that no system that is so professional and pervasive could have arisen by accident, as the Evolutionists claim.

The proponents of the theory called “Intelligent Design” offer what are called by the Evolutionists nothing more that pseudo-scientific jargon in support of their own position that it is their birthright to steal.

Intelligent Design proponents pack school boards and commissions in efforts to promote their viewpoint, while the Evolutionists continue to maintain that anyone can learn to steal and that it is not some magical talent bestowed on a chosen few.

The latest archeological discovery pushes back the beginning dates 100,000 years for local corruption and gives the Evolutionists more evidence. They don’t really expect this to have much effect on the Creationists, but remain undaunted in their search for our roots.

What a bunch of non-sensical rubbish. The idea anyone can trace current corruption to 100,000 years ago. The second 3 people came together, one was playing the other 2. Corruption comes in many forms. It can be stealing vaccines for your constituents. It can be in the form of redistricting people out of their district. It can be harvesting mail ballots. I have seen this for over 40 years. Locally the Democrats are guilty of all three. So long as any Republican is backing Trump, their opinion does not matter to me. We end a lot of it by backing a new law which allows the AG's office to investigate election fraud. That has stopped unless Saenz ask for help. Given how many lawsuits Gilberto Hinojosa has filed and one, there is no explanation for why Saenz has not investigated any of the fraud, and asked AG Paxton for help.

Mr. Montoya, mi comment has nothing to do with the post, I just wanted to ask if you ever tried to interview Susan Ruvalcaba. She always posts negative stuff about local democrats, national . She was very angry with the picture of Mayra Mentiras but I question her, she has been at the BISD meetings but I 've been to 2 coffee with the mayor and I have not seen her there. Honestly, some of her ideas are fine, I would even say good, but she follows the DT agenda and attacks the same way and when people attack back she doesnt like it. I think she is a good person BUT she is a REPUBLICAN that needs to STEP AWAY from DT and, like Carlos Cascos, stand on her own; unless that is what she truly is... A MAGA, and NOT a Republican.

There is hard work: visiting homes, talking to the homeless, elderly, ill, helping the politicians, making friends, registering voters, getting permission to post signs, the actual posting of signs (truck, metal posts, hammers) early in the morning, calling people by phone, obtaining the list of voters, holding political rallies etc that is how many elections are won. Corruption: telling your friends at the election office to throw away ballots, to hide ballots, to discard ballots, to put fear on the voters so that they do not show up, giving money under the table to your politicians and expect something in return etc

Who told you that Biden or Harris like you? You and everyone else is just a vote. You apparently suffer low self esteem.

Another thing Juan Montoya: when I go and cast my vote during election day, at Garza Elementary, there is no light, no electricity, they should provide us with flashlights or post a notice outside to carry some form of light to see the ballot. Remi Garza should visit this voting site to check on the lighting situation. The school is closed and I guess there is no electricity in the library, nor the gym. This is another form of corruption.
