AVOIDING INTERNATIONAL BLVD. CONSTRUCTION, OVERWEIGHT TRUCKS RUMBLE ON BOCA CHICA BLVD. (HIGHWAY 4)

Commenter: Have you noticed the hundreds of 18-wheelers driving from the Port of Brownsville take a right at Boca Chica (Highway 4) off the expressway rather than using International Boulevard the way they are supposed to do? On their return they retrace their route and take a left at the expressway to get to Los Tomates/Veterans Bridge and avoid International the state's reconstructing of International Blvd.

The Port of Brownsville's specialized oversize/overweight permit allows for the movement of oversize or overweight vehicles carrying cargo on the following roads: State Highway 48/State Highway 4 between the Gateway International Bridge and the entrance to the Port of Brownsville only.

Is this probably because the whole of International from the expressway to Four Corners is a mess with construction? It is so dangerous the way they drive so fast through Boca Chica. Are they overweight, like most Mexican trucks? And more important, can Boca Chica road handle the weight of all these trucks?

Trump on Monday promised massive hikes in tariffs on goods coming from Mexico, Canada and China starting on the first day of his administration, a policy that could sharply increase costs for American businesses and consumers.

The move, Trump said, will be in retaliation for illegal immigration and “crime and drugs” coming across the border.

“On January 20th, as one of my many first Executive Orders, I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% Tariff on ALL products coming into the United States, and its ridiculous Open Borders,” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform. “This Tariff will remain in effect until such time as Drugs, in particular Fentanyl, which has addicted our white people!”

Where is Port police in all this.
Shouldn't the Port police have some control?
Might the Port police coordinate with state, county and city to correct this.m?
ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL AGAIN.
Heck, let's just build a Port bridge to Mexico.
Oh wait, we already blew 20 million on that idea and it never got built.
Who's in charge out there?
GHOSTS?

A large accident waiting to happen. Brownsville does not have a designated HazMat route for the tanker trucks that travel up and down Boca Chica and other city streets. Even the trucks that are hauling the steel rolls are dangerous.

Trucks should be rerouted to Los Indios.

If Mexico is taken ouf of the picture and only the USA and Canada are partners, this will not happen anymore. Brownsville will be a quiet place.

Somebody already lost their legs when one of those steel rollers trucks lost control and the steel roller landed on the front of a passanger car, AND THEY ARE STILL TRAVELING ALL OVER. MONEY TALKS
