Employees with the City of Brownsville Engineering and Public Works Department continue to work on street construction across the city. E. Price Road, Harrison Street and other thoroughfares throughout the city have been serviced and a priority list has been established. The latest was the stretch of W. Price from the US 77-88 (E-69) Frontage Road to Central Boulevard pictured above.
The ongoing work encompasses several aspects, including the replacement of curbs and gutters, as well as the process of milling and overlaying the street surface. The city crew under Asst. Manager Teodoro Garcia again did outstanding work following their repaving of Old Port Isabel Road between E. Price and Jaime Zapata, among others like Portway and Harrison.

The need to repair city streets is staggering, according to city staff. They estimate that it could easily surpass the $500 million mark and instead they have targeted the most-traveled thoroughfares and made them their priority. So they are doing it de poco a poco.

Do not go to the meetings they will do what they want to do. Also, this is their job, to use the money to fix the streets. Why? taxpayers use the streets, while driving cars bought at local dealerships. Now, release a press post about people that cut trees around power lines. We want to see them in a picture. Also, the workers that cut the grass around town. Me thinks the Assistant Manager wants to promote his work to advance in the city with your help Juanito.

Do some fact checking JUAN not all roads are being paved by the city workers. Stop giving the City workers so much credit. This is their job to do. They get paid for this as do the private contractors as well.

I read here that he is the husband of a local lawyer and is part of a very important political family here in Brownsville. So he knows how to sell himself and how to get a promotion real quickly.
Juanito, can you do something nice for the City employees and benefit all the people that work around the city. Can you contact the right person at the City of Brownsville to encourage the installation of portable restrooms in designated areas that will not bother others to help these men that work all day long out in the street. Sometimes they go to the gas stations and they are mistreated by the employees there. I have seen how they mistreated a guy (that looked like a homeless person) that was working and needed to use the restroom. Nobody defended the guy, not even me. Also these employees are not treated right at the local banks, they are yelled because they have dirty pants, dirty shoes etc. It is a shame for all involved. Do something Juanito. The Border Patrol guys send their cleanest guy to go and get the food too at our local restaurants. It is a big shame for these men.
