He finally did Thursday night when he voted for Erasmo Castro to be the board's new president. Longtime blogger and respected journalist Juan Montoya reported via his sources that the belligerent bully Elizondo had confronted Ortiz over the latter's decision. Ortiz has finally seen the light and it isn't in the dark cave that the bitter Elizondo inhabits. He recognizes that if the district is going to move forward, somebody had to step into the room and be the adult. He knew that Elizondo, salivating with vengeance, would have been a disaster as the board president, particularly when he has always opposed Superintendent Dr. Jesus Chavez and had intimated that he wanted the super terminated. Elizondo never does anything for the right reasons. He is blinded by self-hate. Ortiz discerned this reality and could not in good conscious abide by Elizondo's tyranny who wouldn't think twice about leading the BISD off the precipice and into the abyss. Joined by Castro, outgoing President Jessica Gonzalez, new VP Daniella Lopez Valdez, and Denise Garza, Ortiz, in the classical John McCain fashion, gave Elizondo a dramatic thumbs down. For the thousands who want the best for the BISD, they applaud Ortiz for rejecting Elizondo who only knows intimidation. The majority, in an attempt to meet in the middle, elected Minerva Pena, presently in Elizondo's back pocket, to the office of secretary. Will this be the new majority? Doubtful. The gals Gonzalez, Lopez Valdez and Garza will stick together, but Castro and Ortiz will swing depending on the issue. And if Elizondo thinks he's going to control the feline Pena, good luck herding cats. Ultimately, Elizondo may find himself in a minority of one. On a personal level, nobody likes him. And to add insult to injury, the new board intentionally humiliated Elizondo for all his excesses by denying him an officer's post.)"
Although, I DO NOT ENTIRELY agree that "Panchochita AKA - Frank Ortiz" has grown any "balls", he has decided that he doesn't want to go DOWN with or ON Carlos Elizanda AKA "La Rata Pelona" any longer. Truth be told, "If you live by the sword you will die by the sword"!!! Besides, everyone knows that Carlos Elizanda AKA - "La Rata Pelona and "Panchochita AKA - Frank Ortiz both have little stumpies between their legs so to make of for their lack of manhood, they are bullies to attempt to control. And, as an old Spanish saying goes... "Un valente sera un valente mientras que un cobadre lo permite" Translation "A brave man will be a brave man while a coward allows it"
I agree...however, as I remember the old Spanish saying, it goes more like this "Un valente intimidará hasta que el cobarde le ponga fin" English - "A bully will bully until a a coward puts a stop to it" But then again, both are a reflection of the same message.

The strategy to place castro as president is assuming he will not last long as a member of the board and lopez will fill in as president. The board is in a volatile position with the inconsistency of castro who now is leading a unified effort. It will be difficult to ignore the nastiness and scorn approach he has used on all including the family of lopez. Being ugly to people is not easily forgotten and in this case, politics overruled. BISD's reputation by selecting castro as president has reached a low point. Board majority, you voted against the models of solid character that should be at the top of your roles. We model what is good and work with what is bad and demining but we don't promote until proven a good leader. I am sure your planned to place castro at the presidency is to shut him up as the responsibility of the position is to listen to his board and lead the board. He will have a difficult time listening and will want to lead with words, actions and ugliness. Lopez and all, you knew this and this is why you did it. It would have been better to have him serve as a member since he was removed the last time. You don't fire a board member and bring them back and place them in the top job as president unless you have a strategic view (offered by legal counsel). I do hope I am proven wrong. At this time, I embarrassed for the children of bisd. The character lesson the majority of board members handed down to staff, students and the community stinks!
