Special to El RrunRrun
There were three clerks at their terminals and the waiting list soon grew to 20 or more as customers waited and the rest of the staff piddled around, joked with each other and generally ignored the clients. Job security?
Sometimes they went to the back and left only one clerk at a terminal to cut down on the now-26 customers on the waiting list, and growing. It climbed to 30 with only two clerks at their terminals, then just one. (See top photo.)
And if you want to use the kiosk where you can just pay with your debit or credit card, well, the machine is usually out of order. It would take currency, but would not give change. Sorry.
Almost exactly an hour after he walked in the door, he walked out with his receipt. It took an hour to service four customers.
Since the City of Brownsville handed them the monopoly/ franchise, they can be like the Ma Bell telephone monopoly used to say: "We don't care. We don't have to.")

The waiting time is normal. For Brownsville. Get used to the new work ethic: no more customer service.
pay online bruh.
I have it in McAllen. Works fast and great every day. No complaints.
Spectrum needs some competition. Maybe the local politicians can bring a new cable service to our area.
The down time is even worse. With the last few weeks, it was down nearly 24 hour to include phone service. I am going back to a restaurant I ate at last night, because last night Spectrum was down and they could not accept credit cards. I only had a 20 so I paid most of it.
It is very local restaurant, and the owners know we will be back. But there is a reason for the monopoly. Unless the city pays to maintain the system and then leases it out to different companies, who is going to pay for another system?
Do you really want the BPUB to be responsible for the system. ELON Musks Starlink will replace Spectrum and then you will learn what it really means to have no customer service.
Never have to wait more than a few minutes. How ? Set an appointment, offered usually 2 hours or more after your initial log in. be on time, problem solved.
the taxpayers that live here in browntown DO NOT HAVE, AND I SAY, DO NOT HAVE ANY RIGHTS TO COMPLAIN, NONE WHATSOEVER. YOU HAVE TO COMPLAIN AT THE VOTING HOUSE IF NOT, DO NOT, AND I SAY DO NOT COMPLAIN...
"VOTE EVERYBODY OUT "
ELECTED OFFICALS GET SPECTRUM FREE DAS WHY VOTE EVERYBODY OUT
Starlink is the shit! Awesome company.
The customer chooses to wait that long. Most people pay these types of bills online. Most people pay these types of bills online through auto-pay. Again, the choice is the customers to make.
Everything is better in McAllen. Browntown operates on Matamoros standards.
Soon the City of Brownsville will finish installing underground cabke so we may be getting fee internet.
I had good experience at Spectrum.
It required multiple visits but eventually got done.
Business was done professionally and in reasonable time.
How did the city hand them the monopoly?

Time Warner used to have 4 offices in Harlingen. Now, there is only ONE office in Harlingen. Understaffed. Sign in, and wait. They advertise they are different from TMobile, same animal, different name.
