Very saddening, reading the reports on other sites. Air traffic control was communicating with black hawk, they spotted plane and was tryin to maneuver I believe 300 ft in the air out the site of plane . Then the unthinkable happened.
It's a commercial airport. Army chopper to blame.
The Airplane was 60 seconds away from landing and had COMPLETE right of way. It was the military helicopter that was trespassing airspace of plane. Get this right.

Major newspapers have done investigative reporting on this, but it appears that no one paid attention. They all said that it was a disaster waiting to happen.

One person typically handles both plane and helicopter duties at the Reagan National Tower after 9:30 p.m. when air traffic begins to slow, The New York Times reported.
