I picked apples in Washington, and it was so physically hard my body was covered in bruises from the ladders, the bags, and we couldn’t get people to help the farmer who had a freeze coming. Mexicans, Vietnamese, and anyone who came either left or worked one day. I have mad respect for the workers, I was so exhausted at the end of the day I felt too tired to even drive home. I actually broke even after calculating childcare and gas. So made nothing from picking but made a little from sorting them, which paid by the hour. People have NO idea of how backbreaking it is. I was 25. Think of those workers when you put food on your table.
all the jobs move to nations with free trade and cheap labor and Americans are out of work but the CEO makes more money and you think that's a good economic model. LMAO
